Interestingly enough, they approached the owner of the vacant lot next door and they was not willing to sell. (Not sure it was a price issue, or just plain lack of interest.)

That's great news. That stretch and all the vacant used auto lots need to find new life (my dream is for that Mazda dealership to move further out). I've also heard from reliable sources that an announcement about a Northcross redevelopment is imminent.
