DL is moving to PKX in the spring.

FWIW I think WestJet will use the last four frames in 2021 for Europe at YYZ. Asia launch probably won't happen until they execute options.

Quite a few slots available at NRT. Narita is limited to 300,000 movements and only handled 255,000 in 2018. Plus they just extended the operating hours of the airport from 11pm to 12am.

If WS wanted to start NRT, they could find a way to serve it pretty quickly.

This was announced last year, but suspended because of the Max grounding.

Speaking of the Max, WS has removed it from its schedule until early April. HNL continues to be suspended, and OGG operates fully on 789 4 to 5x weekly.

Also this week DL moves SLC to mainline 319, and AC moves FRA to 77W / OGG to 333.

YYC-YXU on AC has been bookable for a while now, but I figured they pull it again when the MAX remains grounded in Summer.

Yeah I'm taking that next week. Oddly, MSP is now partially E175s again. Or maybe it always was in winter, but it's mainline all the time in summer.

I think they always have a mix of mainline (319 / 717) as well as connection E75s on MSP in the winter months after Christmas.

Seems strange that AC would move to a larger frame to FRA in January... isn't it normally 789?

Its all about maintenance and pilot availability schedules in January rather than putting the best aircraft from an economics perspective.

AC has a 77W available and nothing smaller, so put the 77W onto YYC-FRA.

I've always wondered why AA doesn't fly YYC-PHX. It's has strong trans-border O&D and PHX is a decent sized hub for AA. I'd almost say it's better than DFW, except DFW is a bigger hub.

They used too fly that route. Believe they let WestJet fly the route. Maybe they will get back on the route now that they don’t code share with WS anymore

It used to be US Airways prior to the merge with AA. Then AA had it for a bit then they stopped. I don't know if they are de-hubbing in favour of LAX or what's up.

AA carries over 20 million pax in/out of PHX with over 250 daily departures and serves over 100 destinations. They’re not de-hubbbing it.

LAX can’t absorb those kind of numbers.

And prior to that it was America West before they merged with US Airways.

WS used to codeshare with AA and for a while it seemed they were closer to OneWorld carriers than Skyteam. But that changed and now is basically SkyTeam affiliated.

With AC and WS on the route I think it was a matter of being crowded out of a leisure market. O&D alone doesn't mean much if there's a lot of competition and lower fares, still not a lucrative market
