Yes, does seem a bit excessive, though I think it was always this way. The people look so small...

As for the different material, I think it's still that gold-brownish as before. This may be an older render, as you can see (what I think is) the Sovereign under construction in the background.

However that video (the one where the people look like giants) has this building as white...?

It's not the renders that are old, it's the background photo they used which is older.

Old and in the case of the second photo,....incorrect.

That view is from South of Beresford and the site where is rendered as, is where Metroplace currently sits.
You can tell by the fact that you see the Telus building in the distance past Patterson Skytrain station - as well as how Downtown and the Mountains are situated in that short.

In no part of the new Station Square tower would you ever see those things lined up like that

And that building under construction looks like Silver, when it was still being built.
That photo is plenty old.

Some intern probably just used some stock photos from the vault and thought no one would notice.

EDIT : Even the top photo is incorrect as Sovereign is not that far from Station Square (like literally a block away and yet from that photo it seems like it's easy five to seven blocks away,...if not more) and the photo itself is not facing the right way in terms of the direction of the mountains.
From that view, Sovereign would likely be obscured or partly obscured by this tower in reality.

I was just going to say that the people aren't giants in this one...

If I would still be in the market for a new place to live, I would certainly check out the 1,200 sqft north-east corner penthouse that is currently available. While it would likely be just a tad too small for us, $3,500/month is in my books a really good deal for a brand new unit in the tallest building in Metrotown. The unit seems to have an amazing patio level as well.

I am still surprised just how far from the southwest corner Tower 4 is going to be. They must have wanted to have the common areas up on the podium roof on the more sunny south side, as otherwise position of the tower doesn't make much sense.

Tower 3 will actually end up having almost unblocked views, whereas Tower 4 will be almost in front of Tower 2.

They are already working on the 10th level, so pace has picked up and it should start to make a mark in the skyline in the late summer. The tallest Tower 5 is currently on the ground level, so it is getting there as well.

I also walked by the new restaurant row this afternoon and Earls was jam-packed with a full patio. Seemed very nice in the sunny weather, as the sun does hit the patio.

I do however wonder why they built the sidewalks so narrow and added a totally unnecessary street parking for just few cars? It seems so pointless in this crowded space. There are also several dead trees along the new street (which name I now forget). Hopefully they will be replaced soon.

(but didn't really expect the mullions to stand out so much, so the end result may not be as sleek as I thought)
Is that aluminum paneling?
That's probably the same material that will be used for the banding/stripes on the tower.

Two Wednesdays in a row now I've driven down Silver to check out the new Cactus Club and Earls. Both restaurants have been packed with people spilling on to the street on both occasions. The restaurant row concept definitely seems off to a good start.
