Looks great also from further up Willingdon.

Thanks for the good photos Klazu. (did you see my apology in the General thread?) We can all question the quality of the architecture - I still consider most of it to be at the level of decent 'background' buildings, waiting for the overlay of some bolder designs - but the formula certainly does produce impressive skyline assemblages.

Visible part of Metrotown's eastern skyline.

These towers really create a focal point for Metrotown. The area felt a bit scattered up until now. Metrotower's 1&2 may have been the focal point at one time, but got lost in the crowd over the past decade.

The crowns are shaping up great.

......way waaaaaaaay before today.

The last picture shows no Park Tower or Met 2 both of which are complete (or have reached peak height.)

And the first one shows Modello (which is also likewise complete right now) while it was still at the podium stage during construction and now sign of an excavated and currently under construction Goldhouse site (obviously).

These are not even remotely recent pictures.

Yeah, those pics are old and taken with a drone. They are also from higher up than the claim is. More like 200 meters up in the air. Still a nice view.

Does anyone know when the rest of the parkade and the remaining buildings came down? I know the parkade's been gone for a little while but I was pretty surprised when I went by today and the buildings were gone too.

Probably started about a month ago and took two weeks to clear. Give or take.

Here's another rendering I found of the first KPF tower.
Looks better than in the nighttime marketing shots.

Here's pic of the first tower of the last phase circulated by e-mail.
EDIT: [Doesn't] seem all that spectacular given they went with a different, big name architecture firm, KPF, for the last 2 towers.

One thing to notice from that rendering,
is that the suites without the white banding will have a taller windows.

I really love the fact that the last two towers are nothing alike and give the entire project a much needed variety and diversity of style.

Too bad the podiums couldn't be more diverse, why are they all 3 stories?

Quite disappointed with the podium designs. The corners should be chamfered with higher ceilings for grand retail entrances.
