I feel so many people on this thread are so fixated on towers. While they are always a welcome addition to any city, they don't improve the livability.
Again, look at what Saskatoon has been focusing on in the last 10 years:
New indoor farmers market
River front development
Persephone Theatre
Improvements to Broadway
Remai Modern
New downtown hotels
A new children's museum at the old Mendel
These are the types of things that improve a city and make people want to live and visit them. Regina can't even get its act together to replace the central library, which could be a hub for cultural programs and events downtown. Take a look at what Calgary just built and what Edmonton is doing.
