A $5 pillow? I don't even think you can find a $5 pillow at Walmart these days. Now, maybe you can buy a pillow for $5 at a garage sale, but who would want that?
The design really is not all that bad. I think it fits in well with the surrounding area. I've stayed at the Moxy twice now and I know the interior vibe doesn't make excuses for what may be considered a bad exterior design; however, I really enjoyed the quirky rooms, the outdoor patio and fire-pit and the loud rambunctious crowd in the bar.
I think San Diego's Moxy looks like an old tired SRO where a blind person screwed in those slats right above the entrance. Nothing against blind people...let's be clear about that.
Oh and Seattle's looks like an Aloft that's having a seizure.
Alas, that's my architectural critique for today.
