I figure the 789 is too much aircraft for YYC-Hawaii (especially given the 737MAX can do it) but on the other hand, it would be a lie flat to Hawaii and that's not common anymore... so they might try it. I suppose they could always use them for domestic service, but seems like a huge waste until they have a bigger international network.
Europe is a no-brainer for summer. Asia is tricky given the bloodbath going on over there. Sun destinations don't need widebodies given the new longer range of the MAX aircraft.
I wonder how AC shifts their widebodies in winter.

AC has far more flexibility. They fly to South America, Asia, Europe, India and Australia. They can mix up the widebodies a bit between those routes. There are also a number of North American widebody routes. YVR-Toronto/Montreal/Newark. YYZ-LA/Vancouver/Calgary etc.
They also have rouge. In summer it flies to secondary tourist oriented destination and in the winter it is down to Mexico.
I think WestJet has lots of options in the winter. They could send them to sun destinations. If it is to much aircraft run them on YVR-YYZ and then use the 737 that are displaced for sun destinations.
