Most buildings are going forward with some kind of shared charging for residents, that's what we are doing. I live in a ~2yr old building. Worth noting that the BC government incentive program for multi-unit charging is over subscribed every year. The pace of strata decision making is slow too.

The price is not that bad, especially for a "permanent" amenity. The concern is more around people who want charging in their own spot. Most buildings, especially new ones, have electrical vault capacity for a number of owners to get "private" charging, but not every spot. So is it fair to allow the first 50% of residents to get this at a cheaper price, then who pays for potentially expensive electrical room upgrades in the future for the next 50%? No easy answer.
