Hopefully this sale was just a one off and he doesn't give up on this market. His two projects in Ottawa(Soba and Gotham) are two of my favourites in the city.

Would be nice to see a 40+ storey tower from his group in this city.

A Brad Lamb 40+ story tower in Ottawa would have a 15 year sales to occupancy time haha.

I think a 'Brad Lamb' project would sell a lot quicker without Brad Lamb . His abrasive personality is not a positive for me.

I remember watching his show (HGTV) and he as a person was very offputting. It could all be an act, as I've been told by people who know him, similar to Kevin O'Leary not being as awful as he is shown on TV.

Drove by the site Saturday.

Ottawa Construction Association Building is vacant. Blue fencing surrounds the site, the kind you see around buildings set to be demolished.

The building is half-demolished. Pretty cool site to see if anyone is in the neighbourhood!

He's the "Condo King" of Toronto, like Harry Stinson claims to be for Hamilton...

Did Brad Lamb actually sell the site? A few articles have come out over the past few years saying he sold it but the project is still on his website.

Yup! Its been sold to a Montreal based development group. Their name escapes me at the moment.

I believe its been changed to rentrals from condos.

Lamb is still involved? I thought he sold the project.

I past by last week and the Ottawa Builders Association HQ (or something to that effect) is gone and construction equipment is on site.

EDIT: Just read the above post. Weird he still has it posted on his website.

If he is involved the design will need to ensure that the upper part of any door frames are wider than the norm

I believe the first version was supposed to, but when they redesigned it to provide the mid-block cut-through to provide further distance from the property line (and thus made the base smaller), they claimed it'd be space for a cafe or something. Although, depending on how big the commercial space is they could have a small grocery store.

Seems like an odd location for retail or a café. There's obviously no shortage of people living nearby, yet that stretch of Bronson seems to have very little foot traffic. A corner store would be good for this location.

Building permit issued in March 2019 to construct a 19 storey mixed use building with 2 underground parking levels (foundation/garage permit was probably issued earlier)

Does anyone know if they're sticking with the 2014 design? It's really nice for a rental if that's the case.

This development is coasting relatively under the radar at the moment, but I am actually quite excited to see how this will eventually turn out. I think it will have the potential to really spruce up the neighbourhood and this section of Bronson Ave. I really like the little pedestrian walkway on the north side of the building. Too many developments try to cram in as much as they can within the property lines and leave very little "breathing space".

Here is a photo I took on May 8. Most of the support columns have been poured, as well as the elevator shaft, and it looks as though they are preparing to pour the first concrete floor slab at the base of the building.
