Your link above is an ordinance from June 2018. So you are correct the zoning limited video displays to CODA.

The screenshot I provided is for a Zoning Meeting schedule Sept 11, 2018. The request is to allow for videos display in SPI 16 Subarea 1, which includes 675 West Peachtree. So am I incorrectly assuming this zoning meeting most likely pertains to 675 WP?

The link I provided was what was introduced to the City Council on June 18, 2018. Scrolling to the bottom, it says the city council considered the proposed amendment and referred it to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) and City Council Zoning Committee.

I checked the agendas and staff reports of the ZRB since June 18, 2018. It does not appear until the upcoming September 11, 2018, ZRB agenda, which you screen capped above. If it was a different proposal than the one for Coda, it would also have a different case number. Both your screen cap and my link have the same case number: Z-18-68.

I also checked all the City Council Zoning Committee agendas since June 2018 and don't see that it has gone before that committee yet. (Link to City Council materials: http://citycouncil.atlantaga.gov/standing-committees/meeting-agendas/agenda)

Sometimes these things just take a really long time to move through the bureaucracy.

BTW the sponsor of the ordinance is council member Amir Farokhi. He is active on social media. I am sure would be willing to answer any questions about the proposal.

Aquarium Expansion Adding a Bike Depot

The Georgia Aquarium typeface and logo make me angry. I get what they're doing with the G/Fish thing but it's so inelegant. I almost feel like offering them my branding expertise pro bono.

I hear you. Given the amount of money that they've invested in this I'm guessing they rejected much better work and got from their branding group exactly what they wanted.

Totally agree. Would have been cool if they went with Chermayeff & Geismar, the legends when it comes to aquarium branding.

I'm a supporter of the aquarium, generally speaking, but this expansion is just looking tacky. The Bank Gothic type doesn't help matters. Oh well.

I have a difficult time envisioning 1105's height/impact on the skyline from that angle, although I'm hopeful it would peer over its neighbors. 1125 is at a high elevation and would definitely look prominent.
