New York City is poorly tracked. I'm confident there are close to 200 towers under construction there too just from walking around the city.

There's a tower breaking ground in Toronto with about 1700 units. I wonder how many New York supertalls does it take to get to 1700 units? Apples to Oranges in every way.

lol! you always say that.

New York is a proper city with a proper street grid, and 1 million skyscraper fanboys. I'm pretty sure its accurately tracked. The place isnt China.

Toronto has seen tons of residential projects in last few years, I hope next few years are for office boom.

Hahaha, that sounded absurd when I first read that..as you (likely) know, Toronto is booming already with the downtown office market, the momentum has only been growing in the least fifteen years as the city has grown (more people downtown have been a huge cause for this as more talented workers/people are near to what could be a commercial project). Keep in mind downtown vacancy rates are down to 3% for AAA classified space.

Toronto's residential markets will continue to buzz along, but we will be seeing some very noticeable commercial development in the city now and soon with the news of 160 Front. This is alongside the Daniels' Waterfront phase one, the two Bay Park Centre towers, Bay Adelaide North in a few months/years, the Well Office tower, and potentially any of the real big commercial projects proposed. (The Hub, Commerce Court III, East Bayfront)

And you'll have smaller or mid-sized projects like 25 Ontario (coming soon), 388 King West, and the Union Centre.

You're speculating that it is. I'm observing that it is not. There are buildings in the SSP database listed as under construction database with a completion date of 2016. It's a massive urban area with thousands more high rises than Toronto. How many of the hundreds of skyscraper fanboys in Toronto care about towers going up under 100 metres?

Daniels Waterfront 1 is a commercial condo.

The numbers will always favour residential when both are booming.

"Le Phare" (3.0) project in Quebec City is updated.
The construction of the main tower (65 storey building) should start in 2019

It's mediocre but mediocre is still an improvement over the hideous original design.

When you look at that picture in totality you realize there is no need for a project that big here.

Vanity project to be sure. Do they have a tenant?

Le Phare looks quite good in this new rendition, way better than the original. It's a bit bizarrely placed in my opinion but it will do a lot for the area. Hopefully this project, once it gets going, inspires Quebec City to develop more tall buildings.

I like the new rendition of it as well. The first one was a joke. Glad to hear this still has momentum.

Moved the proposal of the church street proposal over to the proposal page. It's not tall enough for here at 156.36m or 515ft.

I know, I'm glad I'm not the only one here who hasn't seen it before. It might be buried a few pages back but if it is I missed it.

It was discussed in early to mid December. You called it Selby ph.2.

Ha so I did. My brain was in vacation mode last December i guess. Selby 2, I agree with December me. I just noticed a blank on the front page for it and rediscovered it today. After Ansolute this might be the 3rd best tower in the burbs. Something like that would have looked great near the Distillery Distract.
