Winnipeg is growing, not booming. But it's healthy. We have such a diverse economy that we'll likely never boom - which isn't a bad thing. Look what happened with housing in TO and VAN, and in general in CGY/AB. Really, the only way I see us "booming" in the near foreseeable future would be if the tech sector takes off.

Young people are definitely not only staying here, but coming here. From my conversations, people in their 20s now often have the mindset "there's lots going on in Winnipeg now." It's definitely a combination of the fact that there is a lot of good stuff happening here, and that the younger generation tends to want different things out of life, and quality of life is a big one.

Back to construction - why does that apartment in Tuxedo look like it's being modelled after a Greek frat house in the States? Yikes.
