Polygon Gallery is nearly complete. Not nearly as shiny/reflective as advertised.

^^^ Pinion's post was from April 1st. So, about 4 months later... it's quite the shape shifter as you move around it.

Grosvenor is one solid developer. I can't wait for their Hornby/Pacific project to finally get going.

Are there plans to develop the sales centre and police station? Didn't the police station move out? It's been a while since I've been over there

That's phase 2, yes. The WVPD have to vacate by the end of the year and are on track to move into a new building combined with the municipal hall at Fulton and 17th (a bit northwest) this fall.

It was posted but news of it going to public hearing is new.

Pam "no to everything" Bookham being on board almost makes it a sure thing.

Caribbean Days 2017 in Lower Lonsdale. Good for people watching and not much else, thanks to an overwhelming RCMP presence that's really toned it down from what I remember in the 80s/90s, and a declining local Caribbean population. Persian/Filipino Days would be more appropriate now.

Note the diners in the sky in the top right

...which leads to a smooth transition into West Quay updates

At least they're trying to do something interesting on the retail corners... I guess

The shiny material is still underneath... Maybe they overestimated how much it would show? Or, shocker, contractors messed up.

Have to say West Quay looks pretty cheapo for such a visible project in a prime location. It's the calibre of woodframe you'd expect to find more in Surrey.

I recall from years back that Third and Chesterfield was one of the dreariest, bleakest intersections in the Lower Lonsdale corridor. What I cannot understand is the neglect.
They're in a location where some subtle but elegant touches could be added; stonework? Arches? More originality of design? Would it increase property value? Suggestions welcome.

Well, yeah, just about. I cannot understand how the developers chose not to "exploit (in the polite sense) the location more, with better, sleeker, and more quality design.
