As far as dance clubs go over the past decades, locally and nationally, few last for long. A couple of positives that might break the business trend for that location would be that it will be a restaurant with an excellent food reputation, right? Also, there have been some significant office lunch crowd additions to the immediate vicinity very recently. The trend for increased office foot traffic in that area is heading in the right direction. I think they'll be able to pull off an excellent lunch patronage. It's also a convenient location for the dinner, travel by auto crowd, and also a nice option for the large hotels, within close proximity. If the food is excellent, I think it should succeed.

Game 6 was the most disposing thing since my ex wife... and I've never even been married. The sad part is that they lost to a team that wasn't even playing that well. That was the worst I've seen them play all season.

I use to love sugar House. It has no charm left to it. I imagine the days are numbered for the area on the north side of 2100 South.

Yup. SugarHouse used to be the most unique neighborhood in Salt Lake - hell, probably the entire state. It's now so nondescript that it a bulk of it could pass for suburban Salt Lake.

There's zero charm anymore. There's zero vibe. It sucks.

I don't know how old all of you are but I can tell you from experience that some of the recent developments in sugar house have certainly attracted more of a millennial aged crowd. I think this makes the area more vibrant but thats just my opinion. That being said some of the stuff that is planned like the shit on the Shopko site doesn't make the area any more vibrant or walkable. If any of you have visited Portland, I think the multi-family housing there should used as a reference for the type of development that should be built in Sugarhouse.

Kinda harsh to call it Jordan Landing as I feel that is a bit of a stretch. I agree it isn't the same Sugarhouse we remember from the 80's and 90's. Some of the changes I approve of and there are some I do not. This ShopKo redevelopment has some interesting parts. I like the housing and the new street look, but the rest of it needs a lot of changes.

Come on guys you're being unrealistic. What city/town/neighborhood in the entire country has the exact same feel that it did 30-40 years before? Things change. For better or worse? That depends on the situation. There's no stopping it, sure you can reminisce but complaining does no good.

It tends to be the older people who try to use the argument about "the good old days" that screw everything over for the younger generations. Granted this doesn't really apply to sugar house anymore, just saying that older generations use arguments and and make decisions based on context that is out of date and mindsets that no longer have any realistic application. Generations yet to come will think the same way about the current "young" generation when it ages.

Anyways. Cities change, and to expect that something will always stay the same will leave you stuck in last century's mud. Things will get worse, then they will get better, and then worse again. Many people think sugar house is quite amaizng now. Sure they never knew what it used to be like, but because they never experienced it, it means nothing to them. It's not that they don't care, it just doesn't matter to them. Sure it's a little sad but, local charm and historical vibes are frogotten, replaced, and replaced again. That's life.

It was nice to drive I-15 south bound and see a crane up on the west side of the freeway at south temple. I love driving in larger cities that have buildings on both sides of the freeways especially downtown
