There is dirt cheap office space all over the city, it's simply unnecessary.

Yes, they still own the land.

The old plan is interesting because it's roughly 4x as large as the they would be allowed to build on their new site.

Yes, but more specifically the site is zoned MAC which only allows 10,000 SF of office per site.

Something is wrong then, as there is no way they would spend close to $600 psf including land. I wonder if they are adding main floor retail?

I haven't seen any plans, but I would hope at that price they do...

Chapters will be converting into an 'indigo' brand store in January. Corporate was in the store this morning working on the logistics of the renovation. No word on any final design, but I would imagine it will look similar to other 'indigo' branded stores.

Is there a different internal tiering for the brands? I wonder if they'll steal some of the space still available from Sport Chek's vacating of their old spot.

Sake Japanese food on Albert Street has closed and a new place called 168 Sushi is opening. Hopefully the new place is better and authentic because Sake was a Korean owned Japanese restaurant and just wasn't good quality.

There's a new tattoo parlour going in next to Siam on Hamilton.

I don't think Chapters/Indigo can expand bc I think Nico is right up against them now. Isn't the remaining space from Sportchek between them and whatever version of Dollar Barn is there?

Quan's Hot Yoga has an east location that opened earlier this year. It's in the University Park Drive strip mall where the Pharmasave is.

Dollar Tree didn't take up the whole space. I thought I remembered there being a gap between Chapters/Starbucks and the Dollar Tree the last time I was there.

As for Sake... it was pretty good when it first opened, then went downhill with over-mayoing the rolls and VERY slow service... Made a lunch pretty much impossible.

Quan's original location was on University Park, they purchased this location in the spring.
