I've pretty much stopped taking pics since I had the epiphany that driving around with a camera hanging out my window isn't significantly different than driving and texting - just way more obvious. Costco has been evaluating the new east options for a few years now. Aurora was always the most likely candidate. It will be interesting to see how long it takes Harvard to start working on the site. And more importantly, it'll be interesting to see what Harvard does with the old Costco site.

The school website is probably just as simple to look at.

The current design looks pretty similar to the renders, perhaps darker looking brick.

It's still a damn shame the architects choose to ruin the streetscape by putting the damn parking lot out front. Pure laziness.

Do we know what restaurant is going in the corner at the Fairfield Inn?

This hotel sure isn't like normal Fairfield Inns in the US that are simple overnight hotels with a small breakfast nook on the main floor.

Yeah around 4:30 yesterday there was a large group of business men outside taking pictures and laughing and slapping each other on the back. Investors, probably, celebrating the opening.

I like how Marriott posts pictures of some random hotel on their website. They did the same for the Residence Inn.

Hotels.com says the restaurant is: London Belle - This restaurant specializes in British cuisine

I see the Residence Inn is marketing itself to sports teams as expected. This should be great weekend business for them, especially in winter.

On a related note Marriott's takeover of Starwood closed today. That means (in addition to Marriott now controlling one in 15 of the world's hotel rooms) that in a few short years the company has gone from zero hotels in Regina to: Residence, Fairfield, Delta, Hotel Sask (Autograph Collection), and Four Points. And in Saskatoon the Courtyard, TownePlace Suites(?), Delta Bessborough, Sheraton Cavalier and Four Points.

Look for the Bess to move to the Autograph banner.

New transit facility is going to council Monday with some $19m coming from the feds /province.

We needed a new one 20 years ago so I'm very happy to hear this is happening. Transit is the single greatest need in the City. Two new routes in the span of a year, more than a dozen new busses, updated transit stops, and a new storage facility. Things are looking up.

We're going to finally get accordion busses too as they couldn't fit in the old storage facility.

Mastermind Toys is open in the old River City Sports location on Quance Street. This is their second Sask location and a good addition. Canadian company with some different stuff.

Drove past the laneway suites in Harbour Landing near the new school site. They aren't bad looking. Curious to see how it looks when the houses have fences and landscaping and the area is more finished.

Oh lord. Some people don't know how to drive alongside regular busses right now. Throwing accordion busses into the mix are going to give them aneurysms.

Is there that much peak demand on some routes that articulated buses would be needed? I can certainly see them being used for transporting event crowds, e.g. the Football Express.

The 7 and 8 headed south at 4:30-5:00 are usually packed to capacity. Those routes could benefit from articulated buses. When I have to take transit I always aim for the 40 as it's usually only half full and gets you to your destination in half the time.
