Previous speNDP govt. didn't have a problem spending every single tax dollar they had/didn't have on empire building to ensure all govt. buildings bursting at the seams full of mostly redundant public servants!

Isn't it too late for that as the building was purchased?
Seems like the cancellation was based on "theoretical" cost escalations during the construction phase that would erase any cost savings of the consolidation.
I dunno - this seems like a simpleton excuse to explain this cancellation that we all know is likely 99% politically motivated. This isn't a 100 year old building. There won't be many "unknowns".
What are the LONG term ramifications of keeping the existing leased offices as compared to owning the space as originally intended? Perhaps the new L&L Board could release some actual data to prove it's point?
