Guys guys guys... can't we all get along, #albertastrong, and just accept that Edmonton will have a taller tower than Calgary, tallest in Western Canada for that matter

Plus the 80s are so long ago that it's starting to slip peoples mind. How many people here watched or remember them? The Leafs are the 2nd best team in the total history of the league but you wouldn't hear many brag about it because the success was so long ago.
What part do you not understand are you slow since they have joined the league from 1979/80 on they are the best winning franchise in the NHL the leafs last time they won and the cups before there was 6 teams they have 0 cups and 0 finals since lol.

So here you go
Oilers 5 cups in 36 years = 1 IN every 7.2 Years
Oilers 7 finals 1in every 5.2 years

Now go work it out by cups and finals back to 79/80 when Oilers joined take any team and Work out Cups in how many years they have been in the league since 79/80 and you will find none that match this Including newer franchise and their Finals even caculate the teams that played in a 6 team league for 50 years lol where they were do for in 1 in 6 years. And The Oilers have 1 cup and 2 finals since the1990's began And no they have not been the worst team , You're talking out of your ass. And all 21 teams that were in the league when the Oilers joined are still in the league because they moved to another city does not make them defunct . so 9 less then not half It's less then1/3 go back to math class.

I get your point but find it meaningless. All their success came in an amazing 10 year run that hardly anyone here even witnessed. Since then they've been a mediocre franchise. What you're trying to do is extrapolate the 10 year run into 36 years of success, thats not the way it's gone down.

I also realize that technically there is a continuation of a franchise when they move but tell me how much people in Calgary and Winnipeg care but what happened when their franchise was in Atlanta? Same thing goes for any franchise that has moved since the Oilers dynasty.

I love the competition between those two cities.

You guys are both going to get beautiful towers. Enjoy.

I was downtown Toronto Sat night (incredible weather it was 30C at 7pm) and I saw some of the updated construction. These new towers are really starting to impact the feel of the city. The ICE towers, One Bloor, Aura, INDX, L Tower, Harbour Plaza, Sunlife Financial Tower, etc. All this infill just makes the city seem bigger and more grown up. It's really all coming together.

I walked by this project at 488 University, it's looking really good. Love the glass.

Walked around DT Toronto last night, love the 'crane nest' at the L and 88 is becoming a monster.

I don't know if I'd go as far and call 88 a monster. The quality of the materials is better than I would have expected and the more window wall put up , the better it looks too. It's just the design that leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, a solid 5 or 6 out of 10
