Slow clap for that one.

And don't be a hypocritical ass. You've trashed Stantec from the beginning on the Calgary board saying it's "ugly" and you "wouldn't want it in Calgary". So fuck off with your holier than thou pathological lying crap, it really gets tiring.
Iirc he mostly didn't like the first version of Stantec. I feel the same. The newest version is far superior to the awkwardly proportioned, cheesy spired, engineer designed first version. It's still nothing show stopping, but I actually like it's current look with the clean lines that almost look like International Style. Edmonton has a lot to be proud of with the Ice District including the plaza space, the hotel and residential towers, the arena and yes Stantec tower.

Calgary is a beast in its architectural design and tower height.

We have a single tower thats taller than anything in the west. Big deal....we did it. Now on to curing Cancer.

More Grey cups .Edmonton And soon to be Tallest building Edmonton . I will take that over a bunch of 150m + empty office towers. https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid...ong%20simpsons

I am joking, it means little, although I will wave it in Calgary's face since that little city can barely get to 250.

We should go for a beer and shot it out tiger bear.

250.8!

The new arena is pretty sweet. Will be even better when you get an NHL team to play in it.

Really? Detroit comes to mind. Edmonton is setting records for longest playoffs drought in NHL history though.

Detroit has won it more recently in a much different league.

Anyway, this has gone off topic.

This is a strange and arbitrary fact. Half the league wasn't even around when they joined. For all the expansion teams and franchises that have moved since the 90s the Oilers have been one of the worst teams in the league outside of a fluke run in 2006. Plus the 80s are so long ago that it's starting to slip peoples mind. How many people here watched or remember them? The Leafs are the 2nd best team in the total history of the league but you wouldn't hear many brag about it because the success was so long ago.

No, Calgary doesn't have 20 buildings at 150 metres or more and it will be quite awhile until they do.

Guaranteed you weren't around to see any of them. Hands down, the consistency of the Wings, Hawks, Bruins beats the 7 or 8 years at the start of the last 35 years the Oilers were the shit.
