The single story building with the overhead doors. They have the walls propped up because they have removed the roof from it entirely.

The area sure could use a restaurant that serves up quick lunches, so that could be a welcome addition.

The new third floor windows installed as part of the Viterra Building restoration are gorgeous. I am assuming the other two floors will be similar. Hopefully someone can get a picture.

A new coffee shop, Fix. Coffee, has opened up at 2055 Rose Street inside the Gardens on Rose tower. Features locally-sourced coffee and food. Dropped into their soft opening on Sunday and was pleased with the space and menu options. Another great addition to downtown!

That place is great. They were hosting Hardpressed (clothing company from Saskatoon) on the weekend and it was hopping. Great to see - hope all three businesses in the building have great success.

Is it just me, or are neighbourhood names getting really obnoxious? Did people roll their eyes in the past when names like "Lakeview" were rolled out like people sometimes do now with places like "the Greens" or "the Towns?"

Harbour Landing isn't so bad since it ties into the local area (at least in my opinion), but a lot of other new names seem really, well, lame.

And don't get me started on developers' choices for street names! In a perfect world the city would be 100% in charge of street names, not developers! Maple Ridge is the all-time worst:

LOL! I share your thoughts. Other examples are all the Wascana's in Wascana View and also the Green series in Greens on Gardiner. Definitely a little goofy and unnecessary.

Especially when the City's list of approved street names is full of deserving individuals who should be memorialized by having something named in their honour. It seems like a waste of an opportunity to name street names so generically.

I think it's fine to name a few streets in the area with a theme. For example, in Maple Ridge you could have a Maple Ridge Dr and a Maple Bay...but 18 is a little excessive. Harbour Landing does it better by having different names from a theme: Aerodrome Rd, Aviator Cres, Snowbirds Cres, etc. But those names are in the minority, and they are sparsely used compared to names off the city list.
