Can anyone post some picture updates of the construction at golden mile and the progress so far? Looks like Goodlife is now open. Thank you

They need to rip up Scarth Street Mall (especially those hideous planters) and continue on what they did with the plaza stone wise. Every time I see Scarth Street Mall it looks worse and worse.

The money should have been invested to extend and renovate the scarth street plaza, instead of building a new plaza immediately adjacent to the already successful plaza. Regina's downtown was much better with traffic, parking and pedestrian traffic before.

That space is a ghost town, and was much more lively before all the work was done.

I've given the new one it's chance, it was/is a colossal waste, time to admit it and move on.

I actually don't agree. Once the Novia Cafe section is fully developed, THEN we will know if it was an entire waste. Also the permanent vendor buildings haven't been developed yet either. Yes there have been some substantial blunders, but the project isnt even complete yet. What pissed me off the most was the metal tree structures when they should have just planted trees on the north side.

I was under the impression they couldn't plant trees on the plaza because the it holds the main SaskTel line for the province.

That cable runs down Lorne Street. Historically, one-half of North America's internet would have been affected. I reckon (and hope) that there are more switches scattered around North America.

I recall the City saying that but I am not hopeful totally convinced trees were not possible. There were trees 15 years ago. One can be seen in front of the Nova in this old shot, although I note that Jennifer Keesmaat's original concept also showed no trees. I also recall there once was a tree in the notch on the SW corner of Tower I but Harvard has long since paved that over.

The proposal at 1230 St John is interesting too. The east side of Broad is a little more industrial than the west side. It's an interesting location for what they've proposed (medical clinic, pharmacy, Cindy-Rella's quilt shop - which currently has a location on Sherwood). Spread the love, I guess.

Which building? the single story or the 3 story across the street. The google link goes to a corner with buildings for sale on both corners.

The single story based on the address. They were both owned by McGavin's at one time.

We got text messages on Friday congratulating us (Rebellion Brewing) for buying that space. We thought it was an April Fools Joke, so went along with it. Turns out these people were being serious. We were not!

I do know a little bit about what is going on at that property and look forward to the vision being implemented.

They are replacing all or part of the canopy over the main entrance, a $1.6 million facelift.
