^Yes, one of the most beautiful shots of Calgary I've seen yet. The city is impressive and massive!

Here's one taken in July, but I thought it was worth sharing

Those 10 storey condos work well on the street level. Otherwise everyone I've talked to thinks they're hideous. I'm glad they're there though.

From this perspective, we should also see the new mixed-use tower going up on Mackay. 10 years ago you could hardly get a downtown feel around here, with the Concordia buildings and the new developments, alot has changed already.

Great shot that (alas) shows the commieblocks of the hinterlands. still, downtown is not half-bad and densifying as we speak (new 29 storey breaking ground a couple of days ago)

Great shot of London.

Considering London's size, it really does punch above it's weight in the skyscraper category.

If I were to see that picture without any labels, the first thing I would think is that it's some part of the 416. A node in North York, Scarborough, or Etobicoke that I wasn't familiar with.

Building quality aside, London has a strong form to its skyline (including the suburban surround). I have no good solution as to what to do with so many commie blocks though. Recladding often makes them worse. But forgetting that, London's skyline has potential.

It is noteworthy though, as Nouvellecosse stated, that this is quite a strong skyline for a midsize city, but it could easily pass for any of 50 corners of the GTA. Even the urban forest fits.

I hope that most of those towers don't get any reclads. Then again I'm like the only person who likes that build style...

I didn't see the London part at first and this is exactly what I thought.

I don't mind commie blocks either but the big problem is that most are 40+ years old and have had poor maintenance over that time, so they look terrible because of their state of repair...

The average reclad is even worst than the original. Many slabs in Toronto are partially covered in metal siding. Newer reclads include stucco. Many newly acquired slabs are been painted now. Unfortunately, the colours choices aren't great but, looks so much better than th reclads.
