That's a Comfort Suites (Choice Hotels) and it looks like they're taking reservations for just before Christmas.

On a different note here: There is another stainless steel "University of Regina" sign going up along Wascana Parkway at the northwest corner of the campus. The new sign will be smaller than the first one.

...and of course the Hotel Sask and Delta are also part of the Marriott group.

Apparently the Delta in Saskatoon is switching to a Marriott flag.

The Delta Regina too, or just the Bess?

And of course Marriott is buying Starwood, which includes Sheraton and Four Points.

Just the Bess. I can't even remember who told me that so it may not be completely reliable. I assume the Bess would be a Autograph Collection by Marriott consistent with the Hotel Sask's pending change.

Autograph Collection is part of Marriott but not overtly so. If you were told Marriott, then that may mean the parent brand.

That is what he said but I am not sure the Bess meets the standard for a Marriott. It may not have enough rooms. The Autograph Collection seems right as it is for unique, luxury hotels.

There are plenty. InterContinental, Choice, Wyndham. Mariott simply is, now, the biggest player.

No, not at all, basically none of the lines are leaving.

Hilton is right up there with Marriott. When all the AirBnB news was happening, I think it was Hilton that was talked about as being the largest traditional hotelier.

Marriott's definitely come into Regina with a vengeance lately though...

The City of Regina should look to the City of Calgary and their creation of CMLC as to how and in which ways to redevelop the railyards. Something similar to what is happening in Calgary's East Village would be best.

I had heard in the fall that Rebellion had applied to the city regarding permits for landscaping and changes to the street frontage.

Our landscaping is complete, now just waiting for it to mature and bloom!

We do have some more cool stuff planned in 2016 in regards to exterior signage and development.

Also, we have indeed had discussions with the City at multiple levels regarding our future at this location, and how we fit into the RRI.

Every hip cool big city I have been to always has a hip cool entertainment district with hip cool residential just off the downtown.

And here's the proof! It is smaller but will be very similar to the other one with a new path going through the middle of it I believe, just like the main entrance.

Too bad that ugly white stuff had to finally arrive.

I drove by Cap Pointe today and they were working pretty hard. They've started to dig the pit on the east side of the site, right beside the office building. They also continue to dig out the foundation of the plains, which looks mostly gone now. This is encouraging and hopefully not just a marketing gimmick.

See Cap Pointe Facebook page for video evidence:

Care to elaborate on the cool stuff planned for your exterior?

Still working on designs, but some sort of artistic branding/murals on the back and sides of the building.

Also have another building permit into the city for a small standalone structure that would also have artwork/branding.

We actually have a pretty detailed and substantial long term plan for everything we plan to do over the next 5-10 years in the city, but that of course requires a lot of things to fall into place.
