No he's correct. Extra Foods' space in the mall is out for tender. The developer is looking for a tenant (or tenants) to take it over once Superstore opens.

Doesn't sound right. Extra Foods was not 90,000 square feet. That is about the size of the Superstore.
For those who do not know Extra Foods and Superstore are both owned by Loblaw.
Election year in 2016 with provincial and municipal vote. It will be interesting to see how that impacts the city.
Does anyone know if there's a tenant attached to the new building going up near the Canadian Brew House in Grasslands? Not the one where the shoe store is going that looks like multiple stores. I'm curious about the one with the basement.
Isn't this the Harvard/Deveraux JV south of Canadian Brewhouse that is part of the Urban Village?
I think so, yes.
And in principle I am 100% in support of mixed residential/retail areas...just not urban sprawl ones. I would rather enforce rules that ALL new large buildings contain ground-level retail, and have more dense development (including infill). But to basically build apartment buildings in a suburban parking lot is really stupid.

I also like the question about whether you support quality design... No I like crap!
