That's an amazing article, and of course entirely true. I've done it in the past to a hopefully not-too-embarrassing degree but try to curb that tendency nowadays.

My last cringeworthy experience was listening to Calgarians in Brazil get upset with Americans and Brits for not having heard of their fine city.

I always want to give the offending Canadian a hug and a healthy dose of self-esteem.
