Updated Augustana redevelopment, small but important improvements. Goes to Council Nov 2. for debate and decision, please get your thoughts/comments in to the Mayor, Councillor and the City Clerk (important) prior to that date. I am liking what I am seeing.

Amazing views this one will have, tempted to rent a higher up SW.

They want to get this one going ASAP as well, expect action, if approved, late 2015/early 2016.

Augustana looks great! Thank god were not limited to stumpy ugly buildings in this neighbourhood anymore! ( I've always though that the parliament condo looks like the base for a much taller nicer building that was never completed lol)

Has that blue building on the ledge grounds that you all love so much ever been considered as a residential retrofit, or is it pretty much guaranteed it will be torn down eventually to open up the ledge grounds more? I know a lot of you think it has historical value due to the curtain wall, but I'm pretty indifferent to it...while looking at it today though, thought it would be pretty cool condo like the Cambridge building...wonder if there would be issues with ownership of the land though? Maybe they could do 100 year leases (leasehold) like you see a lot in Vancouver?

Add a lane and increase speed limit to 150 at least in the far left lane. Adopt a system similar to the Autobahn where you get ticketed if you drive slow in the left and cargo trucks aren't allowed to enter the left either.

Where did you find this? The City map still shows this parcel being rezoned to RA8 as was pitched to the community league and was on going for quite a while.

EDIT: Nevermind. When you click on the link it brings it up. Odd.... no notification was sent out after the change in direction. I like this as it guarantees the commercial on 124th and has, what appears to be, street oriented units on the avenue, but the switcheroo without notice is confusing.

Calling the City now....

In France it is 3 lanes and a speed limit of 130 km/hr but the roads are perfect and your pay tolls.

But for QE2 3 lanes are mandatory - it is too narrow and busy with only 2 lanes
