Yeah, well when you use the municipal boundaries half of Hamilton is farmland. Comparing similar neighbourhoods gets you much closer numbers. Durand for instance is well above the 10k/km2 mark.

However, according to wikipedia (

), le Plateau-Mont-Royal "is the most densely populated borough in Canada, with 101,054 people living in an 8.1 square kilometre area."

Each rooftop you see in this picture represents 3 to 8 apartments.

I wasn't saying Hamilton ha an equal to le Plateau, just that your comparison was very unflattering. The core of Hamilton tends to be above 5000/km2 with a few census tracts above 10000/km2. It's not le Plateau, but it's certainly a lot better than 450/km2.

People are so sensitive. If someone claim to see Hamilton in a picture of Montreal, who cares? It's not like it's the first time someone makes that analogy.

It's definitely not Montréal's most flattering angle, but still, let's put things into perspective...

Let's agree that maybe Montréal looks like a modern Hammer... on steroids.

I was just trying to correct a mistake that I felt probably led to some strong misconceptions. I'll post some pictures to make up for it though.

Which is a terrible analogy anyway. Comparing Montreal or Vancouver to New York makes more sense, the geography works better. Toronto compares to Chicago or Dubai much more closely.
