Walk thru review

Overall everything in my suite was great. Minor deficiencies like some paint touch ups but nothing major, it looked Beautiful! I was told that if I want possession as soon as possible then that can be accommodated, or if I want 30-35 days notice then they will do that. So, although all of you are worried about 30 days notice, they will give you that if you want. But I want in as soon as possible so I am opting for possession as soon as its ready for possession.

Nice, Thanks for sharing. Once you move in, please post some pics.

That is exciting! I also don't need my 30 day's notice as I am ready to move as soon as it is ready.

At long last, it seems move ins may soon be starting on 1-4 with walkthroughs for 5-8 starting on the week of September 21st.

The patio railings and glass were installed on the main floor level early in the week. This suite now looks ready to go as the range was installed a couple of days ago and the box for the dishwasher is showing here on the entrance steps.

The glass for this suite was repaired during the week and now also looks ready to go.

A look inside the lobby. Still all of the same minor details to look after that were there a week ago, but should not take too much to get completed.

It does not look like this South East corner main level suite is yet completed.

From today, these guys hanging off the South face of the building. Not sure, but I believe they are sealing in the windows.

The windows come sealed already. i was watching them with my zoom lens, they are caulking the spandrel pieces, so no water gets in behind.

Hi sonic

I think you are getting just a little bit ahead of yourself. Per The Park's update message, only 'Walk Thru' appointments for floors 5-8 are scheduled for next week.

Actual 'Move In' appointments are not scheduled to begin until the following week starting on Tuesday, September 29th.

I do not have any pics that are visible, but they started to drywall both of the Penthouse ceilings today and should not take too long to complete.

I couldn't resist to get a visible shot of the guys installing the drywall on the ceiling of the 18th - West Penthouse, so I pulled out my Canon Rebel T6i.

Impressive balancing act the guy on the left is doing. For all of you weekend home builders out there, Safety First - Don't try this at home!

Yes, Drywall is almost done for the whole building, but there are still lots to do for higher units (8th floor or higher). Hopefully once the people start to move into the lower unit, the upper units can be speed up.

Some concrete was poured in the parkade early in the week.

I talked with the guys from Accent Showers yesterday and they said they were working on the 9th and that floor would be done by the end of the day. They also said that everything was completely finished to the 8th.

The new address sign was put on above the lobby door this week. The old address sign still has to be removed.

The latest look inside the lobby.

Hi Sands - I believe possessions will be starting next week, with the hope of scheduling them starting this week. Last when I spoke with the development team they were waiting this week to hear back from the city for the occupancy permit.

Fingers crossed, and hopefully move-ins will start next week.

Have you scheduled your walk-through yet? Two weeks means your unit will be ready next week?

Funny story Sands.. My walkthrough isn't until October 6th (haha), I believe the rest of the walkthroughs from 1-4 complete, except me. I was told that I should still move in with the rest of the 4th floor. From the way it sounds, they will do it floor by floor. Regardless, earliest I can move in will be a week after my walkthrough haha!

Oh well, it's getting there at least!

You will probably still be the first of all of us moving into the building. Make sure to post some pics after your walk-through.

I'm really sick of being dragged through the mud by the condo developer. We've been told since July that things would get moving and they continue to push the date, provide "updates," etc. We were very nicely informed last week that our suite was a skip suite and therefore our walkthrough on the 7th floor will be delayed until the week of October 13th.

I had spoken to them on the phone numerous times and this was never mentioned.

The City Inspection which was due to take place this past Monday the 21st was not completed and I've been told it will "hopefully" be done by Friday. They can not issue move-in dates until the inspection is passed.

Agree on all counts - these guys are a bunch of amateurs running a clown show. I was given a walkthrough date for mid-August for my unit, only for it to be cancelled well under a week before with that BS excuse about an elevator. Yet it is still not ready - so how the hell they thought the walkthrough in August was possible until the "unforeseen delay completely out of their control" occurred a few days before is garbage.

I am hoping that the interiors are as good as the fortunate (?) few who have been able to see them say they are, but the way this project has been run, with the constant errors in timing and outright lies about progress is, so unprofessional.

I will be happy once this is all done, but I will never invest my hard-earned money with these jokers again. They don't seem to have a clue that lies catch up and good communication builds relationships, and especially in this economy, many of the buyers into this building are the exact same people who they should want as customers for future projects.

Anybody remember "Late summer is the perfect time to get to know your new neighbourhood. It is a great time to stroll down 17th Avenue or have a patio dinner in one of the many restaurants of your new neighbourhood. Also, in our humble opinion, late summer is when Haultain Park and Central Memorial Park are at their most beautiful."

That's how the delay was first covered up, as late summer is the perfect time to move in. Well what now - it's looking like late fall to winter - arguably the worst time to move into our new neighbourhood?

I agree, it's been really frustrating. While I understand there are always delays and things outside of their control that might come up, the unprofessional way in which they've handled the progress, or lack thereof, is what bothers me.

To make matters worse, the rental unit we're living currently in has been sold and we are under pressure to move out by October 20th. The real estate agent jumped the 🞵🞵🞵 on the sale and we know our rights as tenants in terms of vacating the rental property, but she's been breathing down our neck for weeks. Having to deal with the delays as well as pass them on to her as if it is our fault has been really crappy.

Wow that's tough. Unfortunately for you, them saying October 13 probably means late October at the earliest. If it stretches into November (seems unlikely, but it wouldn't shock me with how things are going), I wonder if you can get information about purchasers on lower floors who may not be occupying immediately and see if you could pay them rent for a short term (hopefully) stay until your unit is ready?
