And if there is does it make it bad. No, it doesn't. Stucco doesn't always equal bad.

In Edmonton it does. I have never seen such a wealth of stucco that in any other city would be called papier mache.

While I agree that this city has more than its share of stucco sh*t bombs, if the Windsor Park development used stucco it would still be a good development.

I think the developer should be forced to state the materials being used on the exterior and allow the community input on that. It should not be a shell game or a surprise. Also the developer should be fined or a bond pulled if they fail to deliver what was promised - not only to prospective buyers but to the community. And I don't support the development there based on the present massing and number of units.

Reduce height and remove terraces to appease community, does, massing bad and too many units, we want more commitments, changes, less units, doesnt matter what is need to make this viable.

Shakes head.

Swanky bike storage for City Centre tenants

By Paige Parsons, Edmonton Journal September 7, 2015

A downtown landlord is offering bike storage that puts street-level racks and bike cages to shame.

Oxford Properties Group, which owns several downtown buildings including Edmonton City Centre mall, is putting the finishing touches on an upscale bike-storage space for people who cycle to work at their properties.

“We get people asking, ‘If we can’t take (bikes) up and we don’t feel safe leaving them on the street, what can we do? Where can we put our bikes?'” property manager Debra Edwards said.

With room for 65 bikes, the space is equipped with bright green racks and a special pebbled floor that’s easier to walk on in cycling shoes. Edwards said for a “minimal fee” users get a locker, lock, use of the change rooms and showers and towel service. The bike room is also equipped with a repairs-and-tools station as well as a bike bath for hosing down dirty bikes...

Project Edmonton Phase II at the Standard Life Building

Does anyone know how big a reno there is going to be in the Standard Life Building that the construction association is up in arms about Reverse Bidding? Is there more renos other than Shoppers? That is a DIALOG design project isn't it?

"The Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) is asking its members not to bid on Project Edmonton Phase II at the Standard Life Building. According to the ECA, Honeywell International Inc., a U.S. corporation, intends to implement a reverse bid auction process, which the association believes is harmful to the industry."

Its to Honeywell so it's likely HVAC controls related.

Probably not. Honeywell owns Matrikon which had/has its offices in the Standard Life Building and Honeywell is now the main tenant.

Honeywell's a non-player in that market here. Probably industrial related

Thanks for the pics! KR is looking good, but to bad they couldn't have cut an 1/8th off each floor and added a few more up top to compensate! (But I have zero expertise in building a tower's economics lol)
