Anyone heard when Argyle Street is suppose to be put through to Rochdale? Also if they do I expect lights will be installed at the top of Argyle and Ring Road overpass.

I have 2 people on my ignore list in 8 years. 1. Brutally Dishonest 2. Brutally Dishonest 2. Some people are never happy, but they'll try to make it seem like they're the one's in the know.

Why is the only acceptable answer to the GTH is blind praise and loyalty. The development is a failure. Yes outsiders on SSF are really interested in the GTH, but it hasn't worked and I don't see why I need to pretend otherwise.

Unless you're talking about the Beth Jacob comment. But I don't see how that's negative.

Oh please. You rarely post because of me. That's a load of nonsense and you know it.

I'm perfectly happy, I'm simply combative. I have more knowledge about Regina development than any single person here. I am also extremely opinionated.

But I don't understand how some critizing something and disagreeing with someone leads to unhappiness. It really takes childish reasoning to come to that conclusion.

There are many, many good things going on in Regina. And I post useful, helpful information all the time. I can't help it if a few thin skinned people disagree.

While you do seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding Regina development, your attitude accompanying said knowledge has often been incredibly arrogant and overbearing. Debate and disagreement is one thing, a constant "being talked down to" tone is quite another; the general social reaction to such an attitude is almost always extremely negative, regardless of the validity of your posts. Just dial back the aggression a bit.

The problem is that that isn't even true. The vast majority of my posts are direct factual replies. My recent other posts, i.e. Beth Jacob, Evraz Place, Regina Ave & Levwan are all clarification/comment on other posts.

The problem is that there are a number of people on this forum which equate development with good, regardless of what it is. So when I disagree with people over issues like the GTH or the stadium they get offended. And I simply don't back down with my criticism because people want all projects to be unmitigated good. Sorry everyone, but Regina has made a number of missteps along with the good recent trends.

You don't have to agree with my criticism, but you also don't have to pretend like a disagreement results in the end of the world. My strong disagreement is not anger, it's passion. I welcome spirited debate. The problem is that median age here is not familiar with internet norms.

On a completely different note, Quorex now has their fence for the construction of Namerind's low-income aboriginal housing project at the former bus turn around on 13th and Edward St.

You don't think it's true... but clearly others do. I don't care one way or another, but you may find that a lot of your posts may start to go unheeded if too many of the "pre-internet literate people" start adding you to their ignore list.

I hope, in their Regina expansion, that Save On Foods considers a Downtown location. Would be smart for the city to maybe give a tax break or some sort of incentive for them to choose a downtown spot.

One plot of land that I think would be amazing to redevelope would be the corner of Albert & Sask Drive. Grocery store and ground floor retail with a tower of residential, hotel, and office.

Also, stopped by the 13th Avenue Safeway yesterday and it looks so great. It's been a year since I have been home and I am thoroughly impressed. All the Brick and stone really adds to the facade and feel of the building and its massive inside. Great for the cathedral community.

I know you blocked me, but this is ridiculous.

This is the type of attitude I'm talking about. You say Regina is "an amazing city" like this is a) indisputably true and b) means that no criticism is therefore allowed.

Due to world economic conditions Regina boomed for the last 6 years or so. As such there was a ton of development that occurred. Much of it was good, but to pretend that all development is good is absurd and you know it.

Regina gained some downtown towers, but that doesn't mean that we have to pretend that a couple of glass curtain-wall systems are the height of architectural achievement. Likewise, Regina gained a much of new residential subdivisions but these are far from perfect and deserve much criticism.

The next years are going to see Regina slow down dramatically. This is evident by the majority of new projects being government: stadium, waste water treatment plant, P3 schools, bypass,

This forum isn't a place where all development is posted without comment.

Wasn't there talk of a grocery store in the proposed pair of new buildings being put up by Namerind on 11th annd Lorne? I can't recall what the schedule was for that to break ground.

Could you explain further on your opinion that these projects signify a construction slowdown for Regina?

^It signifies a break from private development. Which means the government is currently backing a significant portion of the economic activity in the city.

I welcome the opinions on both sides. Regina's planning has been lousy for decades. We are finally starting to see some progress with respect to thinking about the core, but we still get way too many Broad Street Crossing and Four Points on Dewdney types of development that are streetscape illiterate despite having spent a lot of time on studies that are supposed to show us what to do.

As a non-resident of Regina, but someone with an interest in the advancement of the Saskatchewan economy and construction scene, I find the past few posts about the tone of comments made on your forum quite amazing.

I can't say I have followed all of BrutallyHonest's posts, but have to agree that these forums allow for an expression of opinions on what is happening. Again, as an outsider, I have been impressed by the growth and development Regina has been experiencing, but also agree....growth and building towers does not always equate with architecturally interesting buildings or smart planned communities.

Anyway....hope you all get back to specific comments on the actual construction and project scene in Regina.

Isn't this the location for the Gabriel Housing Project?

I though Namerind was on 11th?

I don't know if timelines were ever really mentioned... But there is a sign at the site mentioning an application for a"temporary parking lot".

There should be a permanent moratorium on all such applications.
