Negative. This is at VCV (Victorville, California)

I'm sure there's enough people glued to trackers in the coming days, we won't miss it. Unless they do a cover of darkness type thing as they did with Mickey.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the livery on the '67 vs the '37, but I'll reserve ultimate judgement until I see it in person. That photo's too grainy.

Agreed,

The 763 needs one of these added to the space between front doors (L1 and R1) and the cockpit.

AC's 1st 789 is currently airborne flying PAE-MCI for some last minute interior fixings.

I think Frankfurt, Transat's gone, AC downguaged, Condor is doing a shorter season. Though I think Acey or Johnny_Aussie will have the actual numbers.

I'll have a look later. But the problem with most airports is they don't break down international like YVR (Europe, Asia, Misc). With so much sun flying now in the summer it's hard to pin down the total effect on international.

Don't forget next summer Edelweiss is back too so that will help turn the int'l numbers around again. Although it looks like Condor will scale back to two weekly as they released their 2016 summer scheds recently. In fact, they are really cutting their flying next summer too from late June and finshing up early September. So a summer program of only 9 weeks next summer.

But compared to other airports in the region, a very good result for June all things considered.

A lot of the international front can be attributed to Sun destination weakness. As was documented in the Westjet earnings call yesterday, Sun destination flying is taking a hit as hotels and excursions are priced in USD. Westjet Vacations revenue management has the ability to fluctuate the cost of all inclusive vacations to account for adjustments in USD exchange rates. As stated on the call this revenue management feature is being used extensively.

Also on the WJA.T call, the airline is redirecting capacity from transborder and sun destination to the domestic market. Growth in the domestic market will double from 3% to 6% with a corresponding decrease in US and Sun flying.

Of the 5% decline, it appears that AC FRA down gauge was responsible for 1 basis point.

Also, there is a big battle going on for USA to Europe, so some traffic is going YYC-USA-Europe rather than going on the nonstop YYC-Europe. Example YYC-DFW-LHR on AA and BA is cheaper the YYC-LHR n/s BA.

A the end of the day, growth is growth; we should look too much at individual segment activity.

The new official (unofficial) delivery date to YYC of the 1st WS 767 is now 06AUG. Subject to change.

Uh huh. Transborder growth most likely attributable to more Americans coming up to Canada taking advantage of the strong USD. Offset most likely by fewer Canadian originating trips.

Looking at the capacity numbers... Europe is down approx 650 seats per week each way due to the changes to the AC mix and the loss of TS to FRA.

As for the additional Sunwing flying there are 4 more flights per week than last summer but perhaps, as you alluded too, these flights aren't filling as they obviously depend on Canadian origin traffic.

Overall international is down about 5,900 pax so about 690 pax per week each way. This supports the probability those sun flights are way down in LF compared to last summer.

Spotter's alert. A French Air Force A400M inbound, estimating YYC at a little after 12:30 local. I think this is a first visit for the type, but I could be wrong.

Hmm, I'm sure one came last year. Inbound from the east? I'd hope for 35L so I can see it better from here at work.

Just watched her land on 35R, kind of funny looking side profile with that very tall vertical stab.
