Yes, both business and leisure travel to the States will be lower this year but inbound tourism, from the US and Europe/Asia, will see a boost with the weaker loonie.
These tourists will bring more $ with them and this is good news for (non-Calgary based) loads on NRT, FRA, LHR & AMS flights.
Walking through the terminal today seeing the departing visitors, and catching glimpse of these two big blue beauties taxing past each other this afternoon, made the airport feel more like Tokyo, Seoul or Amsterdam than prairie town Calgary.
People will be pleasantly surprised by June's #'s. The sky is not falling, at least not over McCall Field - wish I could say the same about downtown..
