Every time I've flown to or from YUL on WestJet the French has bee very good. Both on the ground and in the air. Flight Attendants made announcements live in both languages, there was no recording in French.

Same here. I've flown WS a dozen times between YUL and FLL and french has always been on par with other Canadian carriers.

Wow. OK. If that is the case then I am not sure why people were expecting pax numbers to soar because of it.

Sorry to have gone on a tangent, my main focus was around BA staying in YYC and the effect if a tag to YEG was going to happen.

I don't see a tag and I don't see BA departing YYC.

In mentioning the French language skills at WS, I am drawing on statements made from Beddoe , Durfy, and now Saretsky at numerous quarterly financial updates, investors conferences, and AgM's.

Another factor in the quest for quality French on WS, every time the company meets its self imposed targets, revenue and network management increases the flights from YUL and YQB. This further increases the need for French speaking FAs.

SEA is served year round by Alaska. There's no competition to PDX. I can see why they chose PDX over SEA for now.

I noticed today that Park & Jet has moved south of Airport Trail. Wasn't that previously YYC's economy lot? So did park & jet buy it, or is it leased and/or an operations contract with the airport? Also, the prior park & jet lot is massive and quite prime. Is there a development plan for that?

Flew with them to HK back in January. They are actually a really good airline. Personally, I consider them the CX of 'Murica.

Tomorrow WestJet will release its Winter schedule. Toronto is very much the winner (San Jose, Sarasota, Palm Beach, Merida, Boston) but Calgary will get Huatulco.

In July and August, yes about 50 seats per week each way.

But in June, the month I was commenting on, slightly higher. Last summer TS only had one flight in June while this summer there will be none.

When the Airport tunnel opened, park and jet lost the convenient access off airport trail. For months they have been saying that "they were working with the city to improve access". I am sure that it must have been a hit to their business. A lot south of airport trail would resolve these issues for them. Maybe they got a deal.

Was kinda optimistically hoping WS would fly YYZ-BOS on mainline. Doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Winter schedule enhancements and YYC gets three new routes:

FLL 2 x weekly effective 30 November
HUX 2 x weekly effective 12 December
LIR 4 x weekly effective 19 December

With the other schedule enhancements YYC's total Westjet winter ops will smash past 100 daily flights.

Looking at the new schedules for the upcoming winter season, YYC will witness a fairly large increase in new flights compared to last winter.
