When you look at the CNIB site you will realize that they will have fantastic views of the river valley from the lower (around 4-5th) floors up.

South and Southwest views for sure. Until they decide to redevelop that parking lot (accessory for Jasper House) that is. It should continue to have great southern view in perpetuity however.

I agree the city needs to 🞵🞵🞵🞵 it up and lose it if that is the case, but if Winnipeg can do it, why can't Edmonton?

Because Calgary and Vancouver 🞵🞵🞵🞵 and until they can get their 🞵🞵🞵🞵 together and make a road trip viable to Edmonton we're screwed.

New home for Edmonton FC. Orientation isn't perfect for sight lines but the size is great. 10,000 seats exactly what the club needs.

Soccer is a growth sport in Edmonton..

Agreed. It's a nice little venue to watch a game in. Would be a shame if it must go. Would sooner keep that around than that eyesore Epcor station. Having seen airborne pics of Winnipeg, their baseball stadium certainly adds a certain je ne sais quoi, though I admit theirs is nestled in a little better than Telus field is.

I totally forgot that issue. I love Canada for its space. I hate Canada for its space. Winnipeg's park is beautifully set. I need to go visit again and go to a game some time.

Is it? People have been saying that for 40 years.

It's an activity that kids participate in until they turn 13. for the vast majority it's glorified babysitting.

How else do you explain the hundreds of thousands like myself who played it growing up but have never spent a cent supporting it at any professional level? Name another sport like this at a local level that has soo many kids playing in but it remains a fringe sport at best on the local scene.

You turn 13 and you stop caring. It's the easiest thing to participate in, and as a result you don't get heavily invested into it.

Can't tell if sarcastic, but in case you're not: it may be dated for any city but Edmonton, but given that we always seem to be about 5-10 years behind in design trends, this one is right on queue.

Because Winnipeg is close to the US Border and only a 5-6 hr drive to a major American metropolis (MSP), making it a more viable city for baseball leagues.

And just to clarify, Winnipeg isn't in Triple-A. Goldeyes are in an independent league (American Association). No MLB affiliation at all. I believe the class level is A or AA for that league.

I assumed he meant the rendering is outdated?

Also, fc Edmonton is the only local team I will actually pay money to watch. Been to both games this year and they've been great. Only about 2400 a game but atmosphere is decent with the drunken Irish/English support section that takes a bus from the pint banging their drums and chanting. not sure if they're going to need a stadium of 10000 anytime soon, but it would be interesting if bleachers could be built in the west outfield at Telus across from the exsisting east bleachers for a soccer setup. Although, not sure if home plate to south outfield wall is even long enough for a soccer field?
Support for Toronto fc has really exploded. If Edmonton keeps playing well, it could happen here.

Is it similar or drastically different?
