I have to admit the whole "we'll raise property taxes instead" thing has me leaning more towards no. Especially if it means they'll also pick and choose the best investments like Broadway and Pattullo rather than do stupid — like LRT.
Also interesting to see the City of North Van is third in condo value. SSPers love other suburban town centres (New West/Metrotown) but if it wasn't for my homerism there wouldn't be a peep about the area.

I wouldn't say Sea to Sky benefits West Vancouverites any more than anyone else except maybe that they can afford to go to Whistler more often? It starts at Horseshoe Bay in case that isn't clear, and Hwy 1 is more of a travel-through route for others while West Van residents go north-south to Lions Gate. West Van would happily demolish that whole stretch and build a 50 foot tall wall on Taylor Way if they built an alternate road to Whistler up Capilano road or something.
If they tolled it, it would hurt Squamish more than anyone, which is a blue collar town full of people with modest incomes - basically the Surrey of the northwest.
