That is correct. PEK, SYD, HKG and PVG are all 77W. YYZ-NRT is currently not flying, but when it comes back it will be 788 and HND will upguage to 77W. It is quite apparent that AC is thrilled with their HND slot, and also that the 788 is well on its way to becoming the Pacific workhorse.

The only question left is... will NRT give up her flight number so YYZ-HND can become AC's new flagship flight #1?

Looks like BA restarted 788 operation to YYC couple of days ago.

I am planning to go to Barcelona Spain in April, flying BA thru Heathrow. What are the odds that Flight to Heathrow remains as a 788? I really want to try that plane out.

I think you'll be ok. The 788 is taking another break from February 9 to March 28 next year (763 filling in at that time again).

However it can always change. Even if BA is struggling with YYC and looking to tag-on YEG I don't see why they wouldn't keep their most efficient aircraft for the flight on it. Unless a 788 is desperately needed elsewhere.

I am on the verge of booking a flight to LHR on BA in early February. My return date is February 8. I was going BA in order to try their 787. So does this mean that my return would not be 787 (Or will the 8th to YYC be the last 787 day).

BA 763 has 191 seats while the 788 has 212' with the seat difference being economy. Therefore if there is another 763/788 route that can sell the extra seats it makes profitability sense to put the 763 on YYC and 788 on the better selling route.

I went to LHR in mid october on the new 787's. The plane is fantastic, really quiet, and the entertainment system is great. The windows are massive too!

DL has loaded their updated SEA schedule. The new flight being added is late afternoon effective 7 April.

Here are the scheds:

DL4710 SEA 1100 - 1335 SEA CR7 Daily
DL4803 SEA 1425 - 1700 SEA CR7 Daily**
DL4824 SEA 1850 - 2125 SEA CR7 Daily

DL4658 YYC 0930 - 1010 SEA CR7 Daily
DL4677 YYC 1300 - 1340 SEA CR7 Daily
DL4803 YYC 1735 - 1815 SEA CR7 Daily**

By next summer DL will have a relatively decent presence in YYC again with up to 7 flights a day. Both daily MSP are showing as A320s. However, the one weekly ATL appears to have been dropped as previously mentioned.

Can't wait to try out BA's 787 when we move to Calgary in the new year. However, there's a decision to make pretty soon as to whether we become SkyTeam or Oneworld customers. By making the return trip a couple of times a year we'll be scoring some good air miles. Any advice on whether to choose AC or BA?

Do you mean Star Alliance (AC) versus OneWorld (BA)?

Everything we keep hearing about how BA is struggling with the YYC flight, and will most likely add YEG to it would personally make me pick AC for long term viability of the LHR flight.

AC operated the 77W on the route for the summer, but right now it is back to a 763, which means in the long term there is a very good chance you'd get an AC 787 operating the route at certain times of the year.

Thanks, you're correct I meant star alliance. Patriotic bias would lean me towards BA and doing my bit to support their route. As I'll be based in Calgary though becoming an AC customer makes more sense for leisure travel in North America. LHR-bound prices seem identical for both BA and AC if booked in advance. Will be buying up YYC-LHR-YYC for Christmas NY2015/16 as soon as they're released in January. Air Transat seem a cheaper but rather unreliable option as my friends have found out as their Feb 2015 LGW-YYC-LGW trip has had to be rearranged.

The Oneworld Alliance includes American Airlines, on which you can collect and redeem BA Avios points. AA Offers reasonable service out of Calgary into the U.S.. Direct flights to Dallas and Chicago at present I think. So I would not bias myself towards AC star alliance on the basis of North American travel. (You would be out of luck on domestic Canadian travel, but often Westjet offers the best deal out of YYC, and they are not in any alliance.)

But SLC will be a single flight. So the SEA increase will cost a frequency to SLC it seems.

I am hearing some rumors over on a.net about KLM ending AMS-DEL service as soon as March 2015. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? I sure hope not as it will have a ripple effect on the viability of downstream (ie. YYC/YEG-AMS) service.

Upside it could help BA on YYC-LHR.

I can't imagine KLM would cut the DEL flight. A downgauge from current 744 to 772/3 or 332/3 as a first step would make more sense. However DL has just announced it's ending AMS-BOM in S15 so maybe KLM AMS-DEL will be next

Indian aviation is a financial hot mess, has been for a while. UA is sticking it out for the long run, but DL is pulled the para shoot. IIRC AA withdrew from the market a while ago.

Soon the ME3 will be the national airlines in India.

I can see KLM cutting the DEL flight, but also this will not have much of an effect on Alberta flights. KLM has much more African connection traffic than Indian connection traffic. Overall a minor hit for AC LHR /FRA and KLM AMS, however moderate hit to BA LHR based on my observation of their YYC checkin desk, appears to be a good number of vacation bound infrequent travellers going to India.
