I don't think there's any question that it's solidly the second best skyline in the country. With Vancouver at #3, you've got a 1-2-3 skyline ranking in Canada that makes sense. After those three the rankings from 4 to 10 can go in any order you like, because really, who cares?

We've got three great skylines in this country that you could proudly put up in any international scenario. Which is cool for a country of 35 million. You can't really ask for more.

One of the best shots of Montreal that I have seen that doesn't include the mountain. I love the mountain, and I love the shots with the mountain, but this is also great:

From that angle it looks pretty much as big as Calgary's skyline.

Not at all, that was an excellent set!

Those Montreal shots make it very obvious that this is the 2nd biggest city in the country. Great set, maybe just post a few and a link to a thread in the city pictures section next time though.

I still like the Calgary and Vancouver skylines better, though neither city can touch that density.

Yeah, like I said, I would not do that too often. I got carried away by my enthusiasm (pronounced like De Niro/Capone)

I would not argue with you which is a better skyline, because that is very subjective, but one has to have a very poor perception of scale to think Calgary has a bigger skyline than Montreal.

Also, the skyline goes way beyond St. Laurent, it goes to Berri. Also, that measure is from the West to East axis. If you look at the North-south axis, you will see the skyline is also much larger.

Taking the skyline from West Mount Square (Green Avenue) to about Radio Canada (which is a bit East of Berri) is aprox. 4.75km. It is also about 1.5km along the North-South axis. Though this is not including Griffin Town. Calgary at is widest is about 1.25km.

Am not done with my defense though. Ah, I don't have time to actually impose the skyline on scale, but Montreal's skyline is (wait for it...) at least twice the size of Calgary. lol

Enough with the comparisons please. I have never bashed Calgary! I have always said that for a city of its size, it is pretty impressive. I'm actually tired of arguing which city is nicer, has a bigger skyline bla bla bla... We all love our cities. But after seeing those photos of Montreal, clearly it shows how dense and pretty massive it is.. regardless of not having 5 towers over 200m. We all deep down know the truth. Peace out!

I think this is where Martin_Mtl should introduce a 46 photos post so we can change topic.

Somebody doesn't like the way the thread has turned. Since when is having a different opinion (one that is obviously shared by many on this thread, re: Montreal's skyline), "bullshit"? I am sorry but this is out of line.
