Sure but YYC could still be a 333, which wouldn't directly affect 332 availability for YEG.

Interesting, though I would have liked an automated system. Probably not enough traffic to warrant something like that?

One thing I noticed in the video was a new red/white/black colour scheme for signs, floors etc. which is different from the current yellow/blue. Will they be installing new updated signs in all concourses too?

Ugh, and I just finished telling the YEG airport thread followers that YYC had opportunity to shoot ourselves in the foot. Well this oversexed golf cart idea could very well be the silver bullet that blows apart our collective right foot.

The eternal optimist in me wants this to be the really cool, really functional feature that sets YYC apart from anyone else.

Then the aviation traveller enthusiast says, this will never work for a myriad of logistical reasons.
- for starters, what is the transit time and frequency of operation? I doubt the frequency will be any less than 3-5 minutes.
-What will the dwell time be at each station? I foresee the corridor becoming the airports answer to 7th ave SW.
-will the airport allow other golf carts onto the freeway? My guess is the airport will require only the compact transport system cars and drivers to use the freeway. This will get complicated for wheelchair customers, which will go from golf car at the gate, to CTS vehicle, to golf cart to be taken to their gate.

This us the first time that opening date is now in 2016. So take it to be a 6 months delay in opening from the original understood opening day of fall 2015.

There has been talk of that for a while. IIRC correctly, the idea was to have flights from Toronto to China stop in Calgary on the way making it a non stop flight from YYC.

I was wondering the same thing. I just used the underground tram at LAS the other day, and it was running frequently even though nobody was on it.

This might just work just because it's a much cheaper solution that running rail vehicles like they do in Hartfield, LAS, etc..

Golf carts look like a huge waste of space. Then again, it's a bit of a hike from the end of the long IFP pier to the Encore gates. Like as far as you have to walk at IAH to get to customs sometimes.

So YUL is getting PEK service (4x summer, 3x winter), with an AC 789. Wonder if that means YYC is next when the metal and slots are available?

I thought it was a HU 788 that was giving them the route, not AC?
