I believe the Home Hardware site was in the process of being sold a few years back. I am not sure it went through, but I think they now lease back the site from a developer.

There's a rooftop terrace on C.D. Howe?

Yes, since 2005 anyways.

From the architect's website:

It is during "Doors Open Ottawa", but I don't believe the public has access the rest of the year.

Some of these are from the 17th floor elevator lobby of the Casino Hilton, one from the 10th floor elevator lobby of the Desmarais Building, a couple from the City parking garage roof in the market, a couple from a private building I have access to.

That last pic of Claridge Plaza III/IV actually makes it look decent.

That said, it's depressing seeing the Market Skyline fill up with nothing but grey and beige buildings.

Hopefully the Hyatt Hotel brings some much needed modern architecture. We can definitely celebrate the fact that it won't be 27 storeys!

Someone in an inner unit at Claridge Plaza III/IV should do this to their bathroom

I see the point (the art is a great idea) but Central or 111 Richmond are better suited to the artwork. As you say, Tribecas, Plazas and Central-itself and Central/Central-2 are all fishbowls.

ottawa the central better be friends with the neighbours

9701 this one opens to the west - much better than Central

What is going to be built against that horrendous wall of concrete?

So ugly. Looks very retro in that I thought buildings looking like that went out of style in the 80s.

They probably are cheaper. There's a lot of people who will buy in CP because its relatively cheap and very well located, and can forgive view.

Buying based on view is actually a rather stupid move anyway, as you never know if/when another building might pop and destroy your view.
