The Neuf Architectes site has the Claridge Hotel listed as "Hyatt Ottawa":
http://www.neufarchitectes.com/7-hotels/10410-Hyatt-Ottawa/

Didn't know that had been finalized...

^^Wasn't it from the get-go? Never heard of it being anything else than Hyatt.

Also.. yes! I love the staggered condo architecture for the market... it would look very nice. And let's be honest, there's nothing THAT beautiful or historic on tha stretch of Dalhousie... It's not like the Shawarma place next in front was a heritage site

But what a waste of space, never realized how big this site was and the potential... They could've easily built up to 6-8 floors with underground parking and sell the surface parking lot next door. I'm sure such a big space in the market would be worth a lot.

Unreal! Especially the first image. Anyone knows if the lot where the Home Hardware is has been sold to a developer yet?

Every time I look at these views I imagine how much nicer two 50-55 story towers would look in place of the wall of towers.

Right. The first time I saw that view I had to stop walking for a second and the only thought that came to mind my mind was "WTF". I can't beleive city planners can argue over street scaping in some part of the city , and let that happen on rideau. The only good thing is that CP III/IV look much better that the first 2 towers.
Are additional towers still planned on the est side of CP III+IV, against the blank wall?

From what I heard last, the move-in date for the first round of tennants is still scheduled for June 2014, delayed by one month from May 2014.

They removed the pedestrian covered walkway/scaffolding on Rideau Street today. Looks like it's coming along nicely.

We must continue 'The Great Wall of Ottawa'. We can't stop until the entire market is surrounded with 27 story buildings that take up whole lots with no plazas or parks.

The tower on Rideau is pretty much all clad, while the one on Besserer is nearly done with only a few floors to go, as you can see on the left of this image.

Looking at this photo, the gaps to their right and left will be closed with the Phoenix and Claridge projects on Rideau (not impressed with them) and any building proposed for the site behind Claridge Plaza on Besserer, as well as Arts Court Tower on the far right of this image. Within the next few years, if everything happens, this view will change to a wall of towers from one side to the next.

These DO fill out the skyline nicely, At least the East Market Lofts break up the wall from the North Note Perfomance Court and the Lorne building as well!
