Yup,
But then again we have the sun, beaches, resorts, Mayan ruins and history…
And the ''party'' atmosphere in Cancun city itself.
We actually tout more International carriers than the Metropolis of MEX itself and higher International passenger numbers. In addition we continue to see a rapid increase in service by South American carriers (LAN, Copa, Aerolineas Argentinas and Avianca)
The number of scheduled airlines seeking service to CUN has increased dramatically in the last couple of years and we anticipate LH and KL to join our list of other European scheduled carriers (Aeroflot, Air France, British, Transaero and Virgin) in the next year or so.
YYC has exceeded YUL in domestic numbers purely, international numbers at YYC have a long way to go.
With YUL adding a few more international carriers this upcoming spring (Turkish and Copa) it will be interesting to see how the numbers add up in 2014/15. I suspect it will be relatively close for the next while.
