We discussed it in the YYC thread, very very very little chance this ever becomes a route.

As bigtime says this route would not generate anywhere near the traffic required for service from either YEG, YYC or YVR for that matter.

When Pittsburgh was a hub with twice as much traffic neither airport had a flight, so yeah.

Man, I wish BA flew here. Their redemption schedule for points with RBC is awesome on their own metal. Damnit.

That is also the reason I'll go with them to Ireland next summer, well that and the 787.

FI does service Dublin from KEF in the summer months, as a summer seasonal charter destination. Not sure how one could book it… Perhaps talking to the FI call centre for more info?

A lot will happen in the next 18 months WRT airline schedules, so its best to keep options open. Based on the summer 14 schedule, BA looks like a good option, especially if you can redeem points. Peruse the BA forum on Flyertalk to get the latest information on BA Exec Club, award charts are being devalued all over the place. BA is ready for another devaluation anytime soon.

One thing to consider about BA, YYC ops are from T5 but the DUB ops are from T1. I've done LHR connections twice before, both painful experiences. Determined to never to multi terminal LHR connection again. But if you like long walks through desolate corridors followed by Bus rides with no views, followed by another long walk with stairs leading to long lineup, followed by Customs and finally brutal security treatment, T5 to T1 might be for you.
If you cant make BA points work, consider AC onto AC Rouge YYC-YYZ-DUB.

PIT hub incarnation was via the original US Air, PIT was only a N-S hub for US until the Airport/City got into a fight with the airline. However if US ops had consolidated to PIT instead of PHL, a daily flight might have occurred to atleast YVR and possibly YYC. This also assumes the US dream of DL style ATL hub would be at PIT.

I take it back flying BA to Europe on points is a waste even with the great mileage bonuses. Flying YYC-LHR I would pay 720 in Tax/person. Same flight is 908 on Icelandair. I'll use my points to fly to the states via DFW.

CTV news lead story is about an 18 year old guy who entered YEG with a pipe bomb and was allowed to fly. He was only arrested once he arrived back to Edmonton. It happened back in September last year. Any locals heard about this before today?

It gets better, apparently the Catsa staff tried to give it back to him. And i get two full body scans today because my sweater apparently is wool.
