Tag team wrestling from the fabulous ford bros.

National Post

Quote:
“I ask for forgiveness, I’ve apologized and I want to move on,” said Mayor Ford.

But the drama reached a new fever pitch just before the lunch hour, when Councillor Doug Ford rose to his feet to blast others in the chambers who presented themselves as “lily white.” He demanded to know if Councillor Minnan-Wong had ever smoked marijuana, which got no answer. “The answer is yes, I guess,” bellowed Councillor Ford.

“The whole council will stand up, so don’t come across, don’t come across, like you’re holier than thou, because you’re not,” he continued to shout after the speaker shut off his microphone. “Everyone should be careful about throwing rocks in a glass house. Have you ever done illicit drugs Minnan-Wong?” Throughout all the commotion, the mayor kept saying “answer the question!” until Speaker Frances Nunziata called a recess. Councillor Ford kept yelling at Mr. Minnan-Wong: “Don’t pretend you’re a Christian when you aren’t.”

The mayor then took five strides towards Mr. Minnan-Wong, but was intercepted by Councillor Ford who grabbed his arm.

Councillor Maria Augimieri rose to her feet, in instinctual defence of Mr. Minnan-Wong. Afterwards, Mr. Minnan-Wong suggested the mayor is “out of control” and said there is no place for “thuggery” in the council chambers.

I'm not sure it isn't, at this point.

I do find it ironic how many Ford supporters are suddenly "democracy champions", all while criticizing others for exercising the right of free speech. Very reminiscent of GWB, not that that should come as a surprise to anyone. I guess you can have democracy without freedom of speech, although I'm not sure how the hell it would function...

Doug Ford is dumb, it's not about breaking the law that is the issue. It's the extent that the law has been broken.

Ex: Sure jay walking is illegal but drunk driving is highly illegal .

Plus, why the hell is doug asking whether or not councillors have been drinking and driving, makes it sound like he expects that to be normal 🞵🞵🞵! I don't know many people that have drunk driven and everyone thinks people like that are f*ck ups.

The council is a circus

They're talking drunk driving? And acting as if it's normal, just that not everyone's been caught at it?

Yeah, um... I know people that think like this. They're... scary and completely out of touch with how society is today.

Rob Ford's in some gooooood company.

Also: is this the tactic Ford truly wants to use? "I am not an addict, I just keep 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 up"? An addict, people may come to have sympathy for. Someone with a substance abuse problem, while most people would prefer they spend time in rehab as opposed to on council, will generally get at least some sympathy. But holy fuckballs - "I'm just that poor with my decisions" really isn't gonna win you votes, Bobby!

Council asks Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to take leave of absence

Mayor Rob Ford admitted during a testy and unprecedented city council debate Wednesday that he has bought illegal drugs in the last two years.

By: Daniel Dale City Hall, Published on Wed Nov 13 2013

Mayor Rob Ford has been asked by the overwhelming majority of city council to take a leave of absence, an embarrassing and unprecedented rebuke that came hours after Ford admitted to buying illegal drugs while in office and a week after he admitted to smoking crack cocaine.

Council voted 37-5 on Wednesday to ask Ford to leave to “address his personal issues.” Council also voted 36-6 to ask Ford to apologize for “misleading” the city about the existence of the video that appears to show him smoking crack cocaine, and 34-5 to urge Ford to “cooperate fully” with the police investigation into his activities.

Ford repeatedly apologized for his “mistakes” and said he was embarrassed. But he also thumbed his nose at councillors. In his speech, which concluded an extraordinary debate that was televised live by U.S. news outlets, he tabled a proposal for mandatory drug testing for all of council.

Rob Ford staff told police about Ford’s Bier Markt, Garrison ball outings

The Toronto Police Service has built a huge file of allegations on Mayor Rob Ford’s improper activities new court documents reveal.

Booze. Crack cocaine. Calling a taxi driver “🞵🞵🞵🞵.” Violence. Drinking and driving. A 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 visiting City Hall. Showing up impaired at a military charity ball for injured soldiers. Connections to criminals involved in drugs and 🞵🞵🞵🞵.

The Toronto Police Service has built a huge file of allegations on Mayor Rob Ford’s improper activities, new court documents reveal.

As Ford defended himself at city hall Wednesday, Justice Ian Nordheimer released a second batch of allegations against Ford, contained in a search warrant application used in the police case against Ford friend and occasional driver Alexander Sandro Lisi.

Poll: 72% say Toronto Mayor Rob Ford's refusal to step aside 'not acceptable'

CTVNews.ca | Published Wednesday, November 13, 2013 6:00AM EST

The majority of Torontonians -- 72 per cent -- say Mayor Rob Ford's insistence on remaining in office after he admitted to smoking crack cocaine is "not acceptable," according to a new Ipsos poll.

Since his admission, Ford has said he won't do it again, but has no plans of resigning or taking a leave of absence.

Seventy-two per cent of respondents said the mayor's plan was "not acceptable" and 28 per cent said it was acceptable.

Answering another question, 76 per cent of those surveyed said Ford should resign permanently or take a temporary leave.

I'm going to go with infidelity. You'd think it was out of the question, because, look at him. Could any woman anywhere be attracted to Rob Ford? Thing is, people are idiots, and he has money. And anyone with cash can buy a little lovin'.

Ten thousand internet simoleons says the next video has Rob Ford doing a 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 in his office at city hall. Any one want to lay odds?
Am I a clairvoyant, or what? I'll take my pretend prize money in the form of an internet cheque made out to Monsieur Rousseau care of the ISP Elves of St. Ives.

Though I'm very much all for the legalization of prostitution, and don't have any moral issues with Ford makin' whoopee with some "working women." I do expect numerous progressive people on the left to get caught up in some unwitting hypocrisy by suddenly turning into puritans and adding this to the list of transgressions by the mayor. And to be honest, it is less than the epitome of good taste and manners to cheat on your wife with hookers. Why can't we have some class and be like the French, all discreet and champagne and sly winks and nods about la maîtresse?

Oh, right...we're talking about Mr. hot dogs and football and chest sweat. Christ.

Though naturally, as ever, the majority of the hypocrisy is on the right. Smitherman did party drugs years ago (but not anymore)? Can't be mayor, in spite of the fact that his economic platform was surprisingly somewhat similar to Ford's. But Ford doing crack 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 cocaine and a million other idiotic things that are having a tangibly negative effect on the city? It's his personal business!

My next prediction: a death of some sort, either by claimed misadventure, explicit ill intentions or, and I know this is a stretch, medical incident.

I'm glad Doug is getting involved in all this. The more he attaches himself to this shipwreck of an administration the less credibility any of his future political endeavours will have. Hopefully we can see these two far as far removed from city hall as possible before any real damage is done.

Staff allegations against Rob Ford: cocaine, suspected prostitutes, drunk driving

Quote:
[...]
Christopoulos also said that during the now widely reported incident on St. Patrick’s Day in 2012, in which the mayor made an appearance at the Bier Market bar downtown, “there are some allegations that the mayor actually did a ‘bump’ off his wrist while at the bar.” (A bump is a snort of cocaine).

[...]
Fickel said that while he was not involved in the Bier Market incident, he had heard that the mayor was drunk and had heard that afterward, staffers Isaac Ransom, Earl Provost, Brooks Barnett, a friend of the mayor “and two females that may have been prostitutes came back to the office.”
Meanwhile, in his own interview with police, Ransom, a special assistant for communications who resigned in mid-May, said one of the women in the group that night was named Alana, who “may have been an 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 or prostitute.
“There have been rumours that Mayor Ford has used escorts or prostitutes,” Ransom told investigators.
Ransom also said that Ford “was drinking a 40 oz. of Smirnoff vodka right from the bottle.”
“Mayor Ford was trying to get the staff members to drink as well,” a summary of the Ransom interview says. “Mayor Ford would talk about getting hammered, going out then getting laid.”
Ransom said later on at the bar, a former policy advisor for Ford, Olivia Gondek, arrived after staff contacted her hoping Ford would “listen to her.” Ransom reported that Ford “became inappropriate with Gondek that night,” claiming to have slept with her.
According to Ransom, Ford told her “I banged your p----.”
Hours later, according to Ransom, Ford told a female security guard at City Hall that he “was going to eat her box.”
Ransom was clear that he had never seen Ford do drugs.
Another former staffer, Kia Nejatian, who was Ford’s executive assistance from 2010 to May of this year, also reported performing personal errands for the mayor, including changing light bulbs, helping Ford’s wife Renata with her computer, and purchasing alcohol for him.
“Twice a week Nejatian would buy a mickey of lceberg vodka for Mayor Ford,” the document reads. “This would happen close to when Mayor Ford was leaving the office, approximately 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Ford must really be feeling the heat quite intensely now, and I wonder how he is going to handle it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't show up to work and disappears at some point in the future. He doesn't seem to be the sort of person to face his problems head on, and it's getting pretty much unavoidable now. With the recent revelations seeming to show that the police are looking pretty closely at Rob Ford and not just Lisi, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in cuffs at some point if he doesn't make himself scarce.
