Banks building a sign of continued renewal in Saskatoon’s Riversdale neighbourhood

The Victoria-based property owner’s plan to erect a four-storey building on 20th Street near the farmers’ market in Riversdale received its final stamp of approval from city council on Monday night.
“I had been in the development approval process for some months and this, I would say, was the perfection of all that work,” said Le Fevre. “We are ready to go.”
With apartment units, townhouses as well as workspaces for artisans and professionals, he said the Banks should be a unique structure that appeals to a wide variety of people.
“They start at just under $200,000 and go up to just under $500,000,” he said. “So it’s not a bunch of high-end products for a select few – it’s a broad parameter.”
This isn’t the first time Le Fevre has tried to spruce up inner-city areas. He has primarily worked in Victoria, but is also in the process of completing 16 townhouses on Avenue D South called the Edge.
“I saw the opportunity for urban renewal down there in Riversdale and that was a compelling attraction to me,” he said.
