Drove around a bit today. I'm not sure how 52 St goes over the bridge tomorrow; the south end is fine but you can't drive onto it from the north side. It's not connected to the existing 52 St. If you have a lifted 4x4 you can drive through the crater and onto the bridge, but for everybody else... wtf.
Firstly, proof that the temporary piers for the bridges over EB 22X are gone... looks ready to pave, too. Today they were paving on the east side of these bridges.
SB Stoney right after 17 Ave. Limit is 80 kph. 2 lanes come through from the existing NE leg, WB-SB loop joins to make 3 lanes
EB to SB ramp from 17 Ave joins to make 4 lanes
Coming off the EB Peigan Tr to NB Stoney loop...
The loop merges into the 3 thru lanes, then the WB-NB ramp joins to make 4. Then at 17 Ave the right lane exits, then another lane ends on the right just before the bridge, leaving 2 thru lanes carrying on to the NE leg.
And I accidentally deleted the rest of the pictures.

But you get the idea.
This poor lady coming off the Peigan loop made it 3/4ths of the way around the ramp, didn't see anybody else down there of course, and panicked thinking maybe the road was still closed. I rolled down my window and told her to carry on.
Looking to the south from atop the Peigan bridge, the lines all look to be painted. They did have some guys at Peigan and 84 St trying to help people figure out were they were going but it was still a gongshow.
I find myself wondering why they had the money to build the SE leg to 3/4 lanes each way. By my estimate this will be the least busy of the 3, but it certainly has the most capacity. Maybe it's because they realized how much they underestimated traffic on the NW leg and didn't want to make the same mistake again.
Given this screw up...
...it's good to see that all the signs are correct, between 17th and Peigan anyway... minus the screw up of somebody forgetting the spacebar in the first line of that distance sign, "Peigan Trail 1.0km"
Better to fuck up the signs than a pier or abutment... but still. How careless.
