The tower reclad will be nice but I really like the redevelopment of the surrounding lots. Fenwick right now is surrounded by what looks like a gravel pit.

This should be reposted to this page, just so we can marvel at it a bit longer. Well done. What is the timeline on this now? Last I heard it will probably be done before the main tower at King's Wharf is even UC.

Wow - that'd be great as a standalone proposal, let alone a reclad. Congrats!

Interesting. How is this a $400M project though? What isn't being shown?

A heritage building complex (the former Belvedere convent and associated orphanage) could soon be converted from lackluster office space into brand new condos just over the hill from downtown St. John's.

The site as it is today:

Here is a "new" render of the condo tower that has been proposed in Lévis. We don't know if it is a newer version of the project (if so, it would have lost three floors), but I prefer this design to the other one.

The previous render.

I agree - it seems the balconies are curved just because it may add an interesting architectural feature - but doesn't quite work out imo.

Here's a sneak peek at Calgary's new Manulife Tower. Located close to the centre of the financial core. The rumour mill states that it could be as tall as 152 meters.

Excellent news out of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.!!

Condos lead the way as housing starts spring forward again in May

Quote:
OTTAWA -- Home construction in Canada staged a surprising spring resurgence in May, particularly in the seemingly overbuilt condominium market, defying expectations of a slowdown and even deep correction.

The latest housing starts data from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. showed building rose to an annualized 200,178 units last month -- with condos leading the way -- about 20,000 over economists' expectations and almost 25,000 above the April number.

Here is the proposal for the expansion of the Hotel Dieu de Québec, founded in 1637. Even though the funding as already been approved for this project, it is on hold as of now, mainly because of its location: this hospital is situated inside the historic walls and was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1936. The current government is wondering if expanding this hospital is the right thing to do and whether the Enfant-Jésus hospital in nearby Limoilou should be the right location for the expansion. Hence, the second picture shows a very early rendering of what this second option could look like.

The Harlowe is coming to Bathurst and Richmond Street West Toronto by Lamb Dev Corp and Core Architects. There's a small rendering on BuzzBuzzHome. Think red brick loft look with glass balconies. Not bad.
