June 6, 2013 (Edmonton, Alberta) – YEG Aerocentre Inc., operating as Edmonton Shell Aerocentre, along with EIA, is pleased to announce the construction ofAerocentre 2, beginning June 2013 at the Edmonton International Airport.
Aerocentre 2 will be a premier facility, offering 42,000 SF of hangar space and 25,000 SF of passenger lounges, office and shop space. Aerocentre 2 will be located adjacent to FedEx on 56 Avenue East located, north of the main terminal.
While there are still leasing possibilities, Aerocentre 2 already has its first tenant, Davis Aircraft Services. They are an aircraft maintenance organization, certified by both Transport Canada and the FAA, thus allowing them to work on U.S. registered aircraft that frequent EIA.
Aerocentre 2 will offer a 20 passenger VIP lounge for clients and pilots with their own aircraft, an up-scale 150 seat area for air charter passengers and a premier 400 seat, secured passenger lounge for larger groups that charter air service for industrial clients (Oil & Gas and Mining) working in Northern Alberta and Northern Canada.
