The new bridge looks boring, it should be prettied up given how many people see it when driving under.

Agree, extremely dull for where it is and what is crosses. Unfortunate, though I agree the inclusion of bike lanes is a plus.

I don't get why the lanes have to be wider than before. It's not a high collision location, and it's not supposed to be a high speed route. Narrower lanes are better, and cheaper. Especially now that bikes should be off the carriageway.

Given all the flip-flopping over the west LRT route, maybe this would be a future option?

X 2.... very bland. But the bike lanes are great... right now it's a little trecherous having to go up on the sidewalk or risk riding on the steel deck... time to make 102 a proper bike route all the way from 142 to Jasper & 89...

I'd say so! Andrew makes good drinks. He's got a chef partnering with him I think.

Interesting seeing that stretch of 97 since I started working downtown. Nothing big and dramatic, but stuff has definately been slowly creeping east. It is to bad that the east edge of downtown is like a wall on 97th though...especially when you have Churchill square just on the other side.

Official sales to the public for Fox tower1 in two days I believe. The units are well over half sold or reserved already. Langham should be breaking ground not too far from now.

^ It'll be curious to see what the market will bear... I, like others, do believe that there's been a lack of new product in central areas in this city for some time, now with Pearl, Corner 1, Ultima, Fox 1, and perhaps one or two more happening very soon it appears that the market is finally reacting, as we really didn't even see this type of activity or quality of product in the last boom cycle.

I found out the other day that one of our contractors pre-purchased three units in Ultima as investment properties. I am curious to see what the ratio is of owner occupants vs. inverstors are buying in.

I know it's one of those first hand stories that may or may not show a trend....but My Gf's uncle just bought a place downtown, her other uncle is currently looking and her parents are now looking as well...All approaching their 60's and all looking at selling their houses in the city for something easier to maintain as they all have vacation properties out of town and last of their kids are preparing to move out. I really do believe that we have reached the tipping point where people like this who have spent all their adult lives in affleuent suburban neighbourhoods see the benefits of such a lifestyle. I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see the kind of massive change calgary went through 2006-2008.
