It could use some expansion, coming from St. Albert, it is still super top notch... but I somewhat agree... I think we need about 10 or so more vendors!!!

Also, Folk off!

I watched the Cariwest parade yesterday. Very good as always. But Christ it moves so slow! I ended up walking up the street until I got to the end of the parade. Maybe I'm getting more impatient in my old age.

I'm also amused to see the young ladies who attend Cariwest all slutted out in ho-wear, the skintight booty shorts and ankle-breaking stilettos.

I see that the big block long and wide parking lot (3.1 acres) fronting 118th ave between 81 and 80th streets just to the west of Northlands is up for sale. Great TOD possibilities there.... would love to see some more ground level ammenity space with some apartment units above, and maybe some townhouses along the south side along 117th ave

There's a neat little housing development with ground floor ammenity on 107th ave at 102st going up also. Looks like Trikon is moving on both their 109th st and their 99th st professional buildings.

Spent the day touring around to catch up on what's going on in the city. I don't know if it's the isolation and quiet of the Chilcotin-Caribou but man it seems like Edmonton is absolutely crazy busy both with people and construction.

Went to check out the Mercer yesterday as Hudsons is closed for renos... nice place, spendy... won't be going often that's for sure. Oh, and nice logo rip-off "Roast" What's with the unoriginality of all these places of late ?

Oh, and the Fed, while finally staring to look good, is so far behind schedule it's not even funny. I notice they've taken all references to the architects, engineers and contractors off the billboard, as well as the opening date. I'll bet more than a few heads have rolled because of the schedule on this job!

The Roost.

Pretty blatant Rip off (not the name, the logo... big R), if the Roost was still in existence that could never have happened, a lot of "community members" are not happy. the Roost is gone, so whatever... it's just pretty disrespectful in a lot of peoples' eyes

Well I'd say that's somewhat of a stretch to claim that its a complete knock off.

Perhaps an homage of sorts?

"homage" is a bit of a stretch... It's a bit sleazy to re-use the same logo concept on a business right next door to where it originated, the original Roost owner is furious, and given that the original business operated there for years, and had a rather famous reputation over a period of time that help shape the community it served... this smacks of pure opportunism

So you're calling the owners of Roast stupid ? Wow, that's not very nice. I wouldn't expect you to know anything about the history of the establishment and what it's meant to Edmonton over the years... that would be asking a lot from you, but I guarantee the Roast folks do.

Whatever, it's not that big a deal but it's still slimy, you can be an apologist all you want but it doesn't make it right.

This is great news.
I was worried that this gem would go the way of the Bank of Montreal building down the street.

Does anyone know who the tenant will be?

Government House was covered in racist and homophobic graffiti over the weekend. Hopfully they catch the little shits that did it.

Was this building previously vacant?
