But either way, i'd love for the community league to request a meeting to discuss these.
Has been dicussed already. 18th ave will be vinyl free, 82nd street side.... we'll see. Those are actually "fake" windows on the west elevation. We'd discussed some community art on that side. I am sure we'll be speaking to Shoppers again, they have been very open and communicative with us so far

Just got back from a 4300km road and camping trip through BC, came back to find that the Junction will be closing the doors on Sept 22, the building is being demolished. Very sad. There is a lot of history in that place

Lead up to the 100th Birthday. Perhaps when the floods are switched out for LEDs the entire building will be able to shift in colours, somewhat like the Toronto New City Hall.

Yup. Will definitely be going for some deliciously cheap burgers prior to the 22.

Well I certainly hope it's not being demolished just to be left as an empty lot...

Sad to see junction go. The burgers and especially the fries are the best in the city. Looking forward to what gets built... It isn't the same owner as the metro building is it? It's a pretty small lot otherwise.

Possibly a patio or parking for Metro or both. Or an expansion for "brewery"..or a condo...lots of options for sure.

Yes, the place will need to be gutted. When I worked there, it required much more than what the ladies could offer. I hope deeper pockets can make the patio and the second floor a reality instead of the cave of an attic it is.

Yup. That must mean the empty gravel lot created next to Oil City will stay that way. I note that there is a concrete barrier in the front and about a third way from the back. But not the last 1/3 or 1/4th - as cars were parked there yesterday. Me thinks we need to keep an eye on that...and report it to Bylaw if the Owner is not be diligent in respecting the by-law It is MacLab that owns that parcel is it not??

Every year folk fest reminds me why I love this city. Seriously.

All the Edmonton haters, come here and youre opinion will immediately change.

I noticed while taking in thursdays action that a bunch of trees have died around there. It looks pretty bad. That and i desperately want a Smalls reunion.

The thing I find most fascinating about folk fest is as I watch the crowd I don't automatically want to punch 50% of the people in the face like you do when you go anywhere else. Losers with UFC T shirts and sideway hats are too busy roiding up after their workout, Hipsters cant afford it or cant find anywhere to lock their one speed, party skanks in cowboy hats are non existant....its just regular people.

While walking to the game last night I noticed the corner lot right across the street west of the stadium is being developed. That area needs some commercial investment badly.

I believe that lot is owned by John Day.

Anyone know when the Fox sales trailer on 104 St is gonna open?

One would think being open while the Cariwest parade and the City Market is happening at the same time would have been a great sales opportunity.

Is it me or is 104st farmers market a little generic these days! Or I have been there to much!

Cariwest west was awesome...never get enough of this.

Cromdale Down... drove past this afternoon and had mixed feelings. Use to take Karate on the second floor in the 80s. Its like losing a old friend who basically just got to dam old! Looking forward to the new SDM and surrounding development.
